General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

New suppressor host

Post by YugoRPK »

1973 vintage Belgian Browning Nomad. Actually Ive had this gun for a while . Picked it up from the local pawn shop for $220. I picked up a spare barrel and sent it into a somewhat local smith who recently set up shop . To cut and crown the barrel back to 4 1/2", thread the muzzle 1/2x28 and install a new front sight assembly AND reblue the barrel assy will set me back a grand total of a hundred bucks. Should be a good shooter and will be a welcome departure from those dreadful P22's and mosquitoes and sig conversions Ive used the 22 silencers on...I'll post pics when I get it back from the smith.

Is this what you were looking to hang the YHM Maxim on?

It would certainly look more correct.

The Maxim would go on this one or I was thinking more on one of my Colt Woodsmans . The "new" 1st series one I got that doesnt have the correct period barrel that is. I wouldnt feel bad about cutting that one up. The seconds series I have that my great grandfather bought new in 1950 I couldnt cut. Same basic layout though. Both Browning based designs. This nomad is similar to the newer US made Buckmarks with their detachable barrels although I dont like the grip angle of the Buckmark.
