22 ammo for P-22+Pilot?

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

CCI MiniMags and CCI Subsonic

Post by David Hineline »

Buy some CCI MiniMags for the P22, and CCI subsonic for what ever rifle you are going to have threaded for the silencer.
NFA shooters blow their load with only one pull of the trigger.

Ditch the P22, get a better .22 pistol, and save yourself the headaches ahead of time.

As David said, CCI .22 ammo is excellent. It is one of the best values. We typically use the Standard Velocity, but we also inventory the SubSonic and the Mini Mag. CCI .22 ammo is very consistently loaded, resulting in reliability and predictable accuracy.
The CCI SubSonic round is also a pretty effective hollow point.

Stay away from Reminton Subsonic, it is just their Target ammo rejects. That is why one round may go supersonic and next may not even make it out of the barrel.

As a P-22 owner I agree and I have the newer model.

I hate to be a dissenter on my first post, but I've been pretty happy with my P22. :)

It's a couple years old and has been 100% reliable. It may not be a tack-driver, but it's a fun plinker.

My only complaint is that it is a "tad" small for my hand, so I have to be conscious of my trigger control so I don't pull it to the left.

I might like to try out one of the SIG Misquito's, once they become more common.

Enjoy!!

I too love my P22 but I know that it will not last like some of my other guns. I wish that the slide was steel and that the barrel was solid steel but I guess that is too much to ask for in a plastic age.

CCI standard or subsonic works well. If you want some cheap fun get Winchester Dynapoint from Walmart. At ~ 10.00 per brick it is cheap enough to shoot all day. Dynapoint is a bit louder than the CCI.

CCI Standard Velocity. You can run CCI MINI-MAGS subsonic, but they are louder.

Winchester dynapoint works well in both my P22 and the 10/22 and it stays subsonic out of even the rifle. I like it alot but don't have any reports of consistancy. I can say it is consistant as in staying subsonic but as for accuracy I have to try that test out.
