It's Here!!!! THE 9mm micro-can. w/ NEW DISASSEMBLY VIDEO!

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

It's Here!!!! THE 9mm micro-can. w/ NEW DISASSEMBLY VIDEO!

Post by Brooks@Thompson Machine »

It's called the Thompson Machine Poseidon, and it's nothing short of amazing.

This can exceeds the expectations Richard and I had for it as far as level of suppression, and our expectations were high!

The Video:

Specs:
Length: 4.18"
Diameter: 1.25"
Weight: 3.8oz
Material: 6061 T6
Finish: Type III Hardcoat Anodized, then Matte Black Powdercoated
for optimum durability
Design: Mono-Baffle w/Optional Wipes, Take-down tools
included
MSRP: $349

Last, but certainly not least, we listened to some of you other guys who mentioned to us that they would like a take-apart mini .22 can. So here it is, the Thompson Machine Wasp!

Like its big brother, the Wasp uses an optional wipe, and since minimization of weight was not such a big deal as it was with the Poseidon, we went ahead and did the tube in stainless. The level of suppression of the wasp when wet and wiped is shocking.

The Video:

Specs:
Length: 3.75"
Diameter: .875
Weight: 3.0 oz
Tube Material: 304 stainless
Baffle Material: 6061 T6 Type 3 Hardcoat Anodized
Design: Mono-Baffle, Wipe Optional, Take-Apart, Tool Included
MSRP: $249

Not digging the rounded ends, but digging the s--t out of your price.

Regardless, good job!

I lol'd at your no airplane comment.

I know that video is not a good indicator of what it really sounds like, but it sounds damn impressive........

I assume both cans shot wet?
Can you do a video of wipe construction and installation please?

Please email orders to [email protected]. Include "Order" in the title, and give me the following info so I can keep everyone straight.

1. Your name.
2. What suppressor(s) you want.
3. The name of your CIII dealer.

I will email you back to get the other needed info.

Thanks,
Brooks

VERY nice work. Money constraints are making me take a bit of a suppressor fast for a while, but I'll definitely take a look at what you guys have on your plates when I'm ready to order something new.

Get those cans to Titsworth for some metering! :D

Woah, wicked FRP on the Cobra. Practically none on the Poseidon! Must be the wipe. I'm VERY interested, I'm gonna have to move some things around but you'll probably hear from me in the near future!

What wet medium are you using in both cans?

Can the 9mm micro make it through all 15 rounds of the g19 without recharging?
If it doesn't splatter, shatter, burst or explode, it's not worth shooting.

What are the wipes made of? Also, what effects do you find on your groups accuracy wise at 10 yards with the wipe system installed? At 25yards?

In the videos, both mini cans are wet with good ol' fashioned H20. :D So far we have gotten the best suppression results with water or light oil.

The Poseidon uses two 1/4" wipes; one in each endcap. Richard designed a genius two piece endcap system to capture the wipes securely, and effectively seal the can so that the ablative medium can be kept in there w/o evaporating/running out.

The Wasp uses one 1/8" wipe in the front end cap. The wipes really dont seem to upset POI that much in either can.

We will include the McMaster Carr part number for the wipe material with the cans. It is readily available, and about $19 for a big sheet.

I live in FL and am VERY excited to see a new manufacturer popping up here. Next time I visit my brother at FSU, I might just have to stop by and take a closer look at that 9mm can

Very impressive. I like the rounded ends on the Poseidon and the knurled ends of the Wasp.

So how about pics/demo of the wipe installation. What thickness are the wipes? I want one but I want to see the internals.
Edit: I suck at reading apparently. Wipe info was posted about 3 posts up. Still want pics.
