THE QMF .45!! NEW RELEASE FROM THOMPSON MACHINE!!! w/ Video

Post by Brooks@Thompson Machine »

We're very proud to announce the release of our newest suppressor, the QMF .45. If you've noticed that we've been a little quiet on the forums lately, this is why.
Image

Weight: 5.4oz

Finish: Type III Hardcoat Anodized/Matte Black Powdercoated
for optimum durability

included
Introductory Price: $499.00

Video of the QMF being fired next to the excellent SWR HEMS II.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TFkQodZFTQ

The QMF is one of the lightest, smallest full-size .45 acp cans on the market and offers excellent suppression levels dry and shocking levels when fired wet. On top of that, it is affordable, and is able to be fully and easily disassembled for cleaning.

The QMF uses a boosterless design for reduced blowback and perceived sound at the shooter's ear, and cycles flawlessly and with authority on all full and mid-size .45 pistols that we have tested it on, including 1911s, XDs, and Glocks.

As always guys, if you have any questions about the QMF, ask away!! To place orders, email me at [email protected].

Here are some more pics

I'm assuming this is a wiped design like most of your other offerings. How many rounds before you need to replace the wipe?

Selectedmarksman,

The QMF is a wipeless can.

It does not need them.

Christ. How many can's are you guys gonna pop out? This is just getting scary. And expensive to think about.

Is that the prototype Richard demonstrated for me? I only ask since I see the rounded end cap. I can certainly attest to it living up to the Q of the QMF.
I'm not so good with the advice, but could I interest you in a sarcastic comment?

Curtis,

We have ended up making the production can look exactly like the prototype you saw. All of the features are purposeful, including the rounded endcap.

Yours is going to be one of the first out of the batch!

Richard has been making cans since the early 90's, so some of these designs have been in the works for 10-15 years. :D I have also been designing baffles for some time. It may appear that we're just "poppin" em out, but these are just lots of years of work coming to fruition.

Awesome! I can't wait even though I have to. It's certainly impressive so jump on them guys. I just happened to stumble on the video on their youtube page about a month ago and have bugged Brooks about it since. Thanks again Brooks!

We all know that videos are not great indicators of silencer performance, but I'm pretty shocked that's a wipeless can after what I saw/heard. Nice work, gentlemen.

Great job guys and thanks for the video. Clearly the wet QMF was quieter than the wet Hems 2.

Very cool stuff your doing.

Gemtech Blackside .45: 6.1" x 1.375", 5.2oz, no booster, unreliable as F--k.

Cycling also has a lot to do with baffle design. The QMF works 100% on everything we've tried it on.

A local customer actually brought by his Blackside for comparison. The QMF absolutely blows it away dry and wet. Hard to quantify, but I would say that the QMF is perceived as half as loud.

Thanks! :D Actually the QMF is very comfortable to shoot dry unlike every other .45 can I have ever fired. (have yet to try a Ti-Rant or Osprey) It is quieter dry than the HEMS II, and WAAYYYYY quieter than the Blackside.

Sounds great... closer to the camera mic and yet HEMS2 sounds louder... to me at least...

Brooks- I dont mean to high jack your thread but I have to address this... my boosterless blackside fitted to a Nighthawk has cycled 2000 rounds, wet and dry, without one issue... just sayin

I'm a noob, so if this is a silly question, sorry. With the can installed, can you see your sights on that pistol?

.......Maaayyyybbeee

Here's how it was named.

Richard pulls trigger on G21, we look at eachother, and simultaneously exclaim:

HOLY S**T that's one Quiet Mother***er

To answer an earlier question, you can't see standard sights over it since it's a 1 3/8" diameter can, but it is very easy to either get aftermarket elevated sights, or just "look through" the can.

He He. Always plead the 5th.

Just make sure on your next prototype can that you don't get a bad baffle strike or else it will be named the HFWTHJH.

Perhaps you could make a derringer in 500 S&W. Name it the, OMFGITTFTJBMGDH. :D
