Another completed.
This one came to me with a 1942 English Half-Penny in the stock instead of the brass regimental disc.
Not messing with a soldiers luck, so it's still there.

Found a minute to post pics of another De Lisle that was recently delivered.
This one is a two-stamp SBR and tube.

That really looks like excellent work! Congrats.
For me though, this is definitely the type of thing that looks great in pictures, but I see zero practicality in. But money no object I'd just have to have one I'm sure

Re: Details, details, DeLisle thoughts.
Probably time to post a comparison photo.
Top is one of mine that was just completed.
Brass number tag on the butt is per customer request.
I will be rebuilding the older version from another company at the bottom so that it functions properly.

Re: Details, details, DeLisle thoughts.
Finally got one of my De Lisle's measured for dB using a proper meter per the accepted standards.
Insert the usual disclaimer about elevation, humidity, variations in bullet design and load, etc., all affecting performance so no guarantee that another unit will perform identically on any other day.
128.44dB 1 meter to the left, 10 shots
111.40dB 1 meter to the left, firing pin (empty chamber)
125.28dB measured at the ear, firing pin (empty chamber)
Equipment:
B&K 2209 meter
B&K type 4136 ¼” microphone
B&K type 4220 pistonphone
Federal American Eagle 230 grain
Atmospheric conditions:
85 degrees
63% humidity
29.330 in actual pressure at test site
Following the standards & procedures as outlined in Paulson, Alan C., Silencer History and Performance, Volume 1 chapter 5
1.0 meter to the left of muzzle 90 deg to the bore axis
1.6 meters above non-reflective surface
No reflecting surfaces near by
10 rounds are fired & averaged to determine performance
Now I'm headed back to the shop to assemble some more.
I would like to tighten the baffle aperture but with so many individual baffles it's as tight as I dare go without getting strikes.
Still want to do a mono-core when I can, that should let me tighten the baffle bore significantly.
Also easier to assemble with fewer parts, but more time consuming to machine.

That's awesome.
Could you post the individual db numbers for individual shots? Wondering what your first round pop number is.
Thanks
Eric

Re: Details, details, DeLisle thoughts.
I have no more details as I did not perform the test.
These are the independent results I got back from the customer.
Would like to have an unsuppressed .45 string for comparison.
I note virtually no one gives out numbers anymore, just "25dB of reduction".
From these figures I cannot say what my actual reduction is.
Firing pin on an empty chamber is louder than I expected.
No one has thought my version is "Loud" when hearing it shot locally.
I need to find some venues to do demos of the De Lisle and my other products without spending too much.
Video is not good enough..

Final De lisle thought?
I'm thinking that I am phasing out of doing the De Lisle, 45-SC and any other Enfield conversions.
Decent actions are getting hard to find at reasonable prices.
Small critical parts are becoming more difficult to obtain.
I put too many hours into them for the price and cannot simply increase the price without killing all sales.
I will use up the magazine adapters I have on hand, about thirty at the moment.
Once they are gone so are the conversions unless I find a way to make them more lucrative.
So if you've been hesitating now is the time to place your order while they are still available.

Re: Details, details, DeLisle FINAL thought.
I am taking a break from finicky builds on ancient Enfield actions.
So building of De Lisle's to order is now discontinued.
.45 kits and SC's are also now out of production.
MAY do a few more after about July to be sold from stock, might put some special features on them and charge accordingly.
Now concentrating on completion of .45 type orders already placed and new products built on current production actions.
No more having to haunt pawn shops and gun shows to overpay for beater Enfields!
All in circulation just became collectors items in their own right.
