my suppressed lever action
I thought some on here would be interested in a new project I just completed. It is a Marlin 1894C 38/357 that I just had threaded for my 9mm Trident 9 suppressor. My thanks go out to Grizzly Custom for the gunsmith work as they did a very nice job. The barrel was left at stock length but the magazine tube had to be shortened a bit. A thread protector was made that has wrench flats. The front sight was very slightly shortened and some rebluing was done as well as moving the magazine tube pin rearward about 1/4 inch. I am very happy with the fact that (with the exception of the wrench flats) it looks stock with the thread protector on. You would not notice anything was different unless you looked very closely. In the photos below you can see that I also have a Burris Fastfire red dot mounted on it. It is not 100% necessary because you can barely see the sights over the top of the suppressor but it does make it faster and easier to shoot. I have only put a few rounds downrange with it so far but it is very quiet with subsonic ammo. I have not tried a side by side comparison yet but it sounds very similar to my suppressed Ruger 10/22 using CCI subsonic. I shot 148 grain 38s along with 180 grain 357s (both subsonic) and I am impressed. The Trident 9 works very well on a 16" barrel. FWIW, I also use the Trident 9 on a G19 and 9mm AR. I need to wait for the weather to improve to do more testing and come up with the best and quietest load for it.
This photo shows the thread protector with the wrench flats.
This is with threaded end of the barrel and shortened magazine tube. Note that the front sight base extends past the threads so the suppressor mounts slightly under for a smooth look.
Here is the Trident 9 mounted.
The whole rifle.

Gunsmithing was $320. Threading, custom thread protector, recrown, reblue, shorten mag tube, shorten front sight, move magazine alignment pin. The gunsmith I used is more of an artist than a regular smith. He builds some amazing custom lever guns as well as short barreled shotguns, etc. I think he is also an AAC dealer. I have not had real good experiences with regular smiths locally so I would rather pay for awesome service than have stuff I am unhappy with. I likely could have had the threading done for cheaper but I wanted more of a "sleeper" look to it. You could certainly go cheaper by buying a ready made thread protector and shortening the mag tube yourself.
After seeing how well this turned out and how quiet this rifle shoots, my Marlin lever 44mag is talking to me and asking for an Osprey and a similar threading job. I am torn between doing that or getting an integral 44mag. That may take awhile as I currently have a TM Operative on the way that I plan on mounting on a Ruger lever action 96/22 22lr.

Very cool, I have been wanting to do this for a while.
My favorite load for my Trident is Vita Vouri N320 3.9g(double check that load as I a going off memory) over a 147 percision delta bullet. It is noticably quieter then any other load I have come accross
Quietest I have found W231 is also pretty damn quiet as well.

Very nice. Here's a video of me shooting a friend's Marlin / Trident. I believe we were just shooting factory jacketed .38 spl. ammo. Notice how the "click" of the hammer falling on an empty chamber a the end is as loud as the shot of the gun.

Very Nice - What did the cost of conversion come too?

Re: my suppressed lever action
What kind of accuracy are you seeing? Did you rebarrel for a faster twist?

Re: my suppressed lever action
Accuracy is very good IMO, running around 2" at 50 yards with handloaded 180 grain hardcast bullets with me prone and using whatever I have available as a rest. I have owned 3 Marlin 38/357 lever actions and they all were inherently accurate. I didn't rebarrel for faster twist as I didn't think it was needed.
