I dont give two shits about the height. If it didnt clear on a host I'd just buy some high sights
I mean the name of the game is setting up a suppressed gun anyway right? So to do so you must buy a cool host, tall sights, thread barrel, suppressor....what excatly is there to bitch about? I love the fact its short and has high volume at the same time, not to mention it looks badass.

trust me there will be a shoot in tampa after all our silencers/guns clear, I have soon to be 3 cans on form 4 and a UMP 45 clone then we will have one hell of a shoot outJPratt06 wrote:[Provided the paperwork clears in time] If you plan on hitting any ranges in Tampa or Hernando this August with that thing, any chance you'd be willing to demo it next to my Trident?

If you let me know when it is I might be able to make it. I'm doing a fellowship this summer but will be in town May and August. I'd love to add any of the toys in my sigline to the partykapkanimd wrote:trust me there will be a shoot in tampa after all our silencers/guns clear, I have soon to be 3 cans on form 4 and a UMP 45 clone then we will have one hell of a shoot outJPratt06 wrote:[Provided the paperwork clears in time] If you plan on hitting any ranges in Tampa or Hernando this August with that thing, any chance you'd be willing to demo it next to my Trident?

Sweet! I just checked my calendar, and I will be free from Aug. 8 - Aug. 20. I should definitely be able to make it any of those days, provided a couple weeks' notice. When you nail down an absolute date, let me know.

Re: Osprey
You have to have tall sights to clear the EVO. Too bad.Mageever wrote:This is almost true, but with a flawed assumption. The Osprey flares out a bit toward the bottom and ends up at 1.3" down there. The sight picture will be the same as any 1.25" can. In other words, if your sights clear an EVO, then they'll clear the Osprey.jetski360 wrote:bigbigpig wrote: The width has nothing to do with the sight picture. What matters is the height from center bore to the top. On my Trident this value is .689".
I know what he means. If the width is 1.3", then that circle centered with the barrel is 1.3" in diameter, and it is just like having a tube can that is 1.3" in diameter. His sights clear because they're tall to begin with. Stock sights are prob the same on an osprey than any other can.

yeah, one of my first questions when this silencer was first displayed on the forum was "can you use normal sights and clear the silencer?"
and
"if not, that is a shame."
It would truly be a shame (not saying it's not a good silencer, and not even saying I wouldn't want one) if this were true. If you go through all that trouble to design and manufacture something like that, you should DEFINITELY allow for stock sight clearance. I mean.... the benefits of a box design are:
- potentially shorter length while maintaining sound reduction
- won't roll off of a table
- normal sights can clear it
right? I mean, other than the fact it looks cool, the above 3 things are what you want. Or, I should say, what I want

I've been considering this can for my new FNP-45 Tactical. Anybody know if it has been tested directly against the Ti-Rant? My understanding is it can also be bought in FDE from the factory for a small fee (to match the FNP).
I tell you though, cosmetically, that logo engraved on it in 3 places is a bit of overkill. It would be SO nice if it just had one logo the size of the new SWR "bat" marking on the bottom (or even on one side). I know they're proud of their product, and rightly so, but know when to say when to logo plastering!
Anyway OP -- nice combo you got there!!! Maybe I'll join your club!

The rear of the can is heat treated 17-4 stainless IIRC.
Ya know, when the can is on the host, you dont really notice the logos, because they arent color filled or lasered. Your example of the SWR logo is lasered on, so it shows up white. The silencerco logo is etched in the metal so its not really noticable as there is no contrast. I like it.
