Silencerco Osprey 9mm and HKUSP9SD (pics)

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

Silencerco Osprey 9mm and HKUSP9SD (pics)

Post by Fireman1291 »

:D

My Osprey finally arrived at my dealer on a form3 and I just got home from sending out the form4 on it. We molested the hell outta the can while I was there. I love the mechanics behind this thing! Very cool. Here are some pics I took at my dealers shop.(evan @ onpointfirearms.com)

The can was purchased from Korey here on the board(SilentShooters)

Ill take pics of the can on my G19 when I get a .5x28 piston.

Here she is!

very nice.

I really do like the look of the box-style silencer. It's also cool because it won't roll off of the table/bench/window sill/car hood/whatever

Damn that looks good, really good.

I might have to consider a 9mm one too, though no usp, just a PT99.

Nice set up.

Will normal sights clear the silencer, or are tall sights still needed?

How does the engraving on the sides look? Does it look better in person than the photos? I'm not knocking the can, just wondered.

WANT. If it came in a 3-lug, it would be on my current consideration list. As for now, it'll have to wait.

The laser engraving of the serial# on the bottom of the booster and the logo on the side of the can look nothing like those pics. The production cans look great. :P

Clearly there is no better looking host for an Osprey than an HK.

It looks like tall sightsbarely clear anyways. When you look at the first pic you can see that. The listed width is 1.3" so the suppressor obstructs the sights just as much as any round suppressor with a diameter of 1.3" would.

The width has nothing to do with the sight picture. What matters is the height from center bore to the top. On my Trident this value is .689".

Did you really look at the pictures? It clears it by a lot.

I know what he means. If the width is 1.3", then that circle centered with the barrel is 1.3" in diameter, and it is just like having a tube can that is 1.3" in diameter. His sights clear because they're tall to begin with. Stock sights are prob the same on an osprey than any other can.

This is almost true, but with a flawed assumption. The Osprey flares out a bit toward the bottom and ends up at 1.3" down there. The sight picture will be the same as any 1.25" can. In other words, if your sights clear an EVO, then they'll clear the Osprey.
