Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
Does anyone know if there are plans to make a Ti-Rant 40 anytime in the near future? thanks.
Re: Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
I would also like to know if that is being considered? Not sure if the demand is great enough.

It's in AAC's 2010 dealer price sheet - but no idea when it'll be available.

It is on the drawing board, but we want to be caught up on 9mm and 45 production first.

Re: Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
Caught up? The way the 45s and 9s are being ordered do you think that will happen anytime soon? I know the the Evo 40 is a good can. I just don't want to buy it then have the Ti-Rant 40 come out and then be second best.
Any good guesses on how long...a year, 2 years? Thanks.

IMHO, full-house 10mm rated or massive fail.
Re: Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
I hate to say it, but the lack of a TiRant 40 is driving me toward the Osprey 40. It has actually made the decision process much easier. I'm saving up for it now and am almost there. I want something holsterable anyway.

Re: Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
When AAC announced the Ti-Rant 9 they had already "secretly" made them and had 'em on the shelf, ready to ship (lots of happy customers and dealers).
For the Ti-Rant 45, the can was rolled out well before production units were available and some peeps waited for a few months for them to ship to dealers (resulted in some not-so-happy customers).
I'll bet that the Ti-Rant 40 will debut like the Ti-Rant 9 did - one day Mike Mers will wave his fairy wand and *poof*, they'll be on the shelf and AAC will let us know that they're ready to order!
ETA - this isn't based on any "inside info" - I'm just speculating

Cool. I guess I can wait a bit. Bryon, if you are keeping a list put mine on the list for a Ti-Rant 40.

Re: Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
Most of my sigs are in .40, but the lack of threaded barrels and standard configs moved me to 9mm for suppressors. It was just not that easy getting a host/can combo together in .40SW. I can see why a can maker would skip, or postpone, a .40 can.

Will the LID mount from a Evo-40 work on the Ti-Rant-45?
Re: Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
if it's "on the drawing board," I wouldn't hold your breath for one any time soon. I mean, come on - be realistic here.

The piston in the Ti-Rant 45 will work only in the Ti-Rant 45 (it's different from all of AAC's other pistons).

Are there enough people out there looking to suppress a 10mm?
Are there any common sub 10mm loads?

Common, no, but you are talking about 10mm shooters (rare) who are into NFA (rare); most probably handload (rare) too.JasonAAC wrote:i wonder how quiet this could be?Silent Shooters wrote:this!smcharchan wrote:IMHO, full-house 10mm rated or massive fail.

Besides, subsonic isn't everything. I shoot my Fiveseven with a can on it all the time, and that certainly isn't subsonic.
I'm not suggesting it is worth pursuing from a business perspective. Rather, I mention it b/c I know there will be guys who ask about running it on 10mm handguns and MP5s.
Silvers and I both like to shoot our G20's suppressed. Isn’t that reason enough?
Re: Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
Just as quiet as 40s&w.JasonAAC wrote:

I am, and i'm sure a few more are.
One load i use is the Federal American Eagle 10mm 180gr FMJ rated at 1030fps. It is about 30fps faster that the equivalent FAE 40s&w 180gr FMJ load.
CCI Blaser 10mm 200gr. TMJ at 1050fps may be pushing it for something designed for 40s&w.
Not sure if this load is classified as full-house or not.
Both work and sound great with my Gemtech Raptor40.
I'm on Maj Malfuctions wait list and my host will be a Glock 20 10mm.
Re: Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
I'm currently debating the merits of just buying a .45 can for .40. Some of the latest 45 cans appear to meter quieter than the same company offerings in .40.

Re: Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
in TWO WEEKS!!!
Re: Ti-rant 40 in the pipe?
Double Taps 200gr JHP XTP .40 gets 1050fps out of my G23 Evo40 with LWD barrel and is quieter wet than my TiRant9 and delivers a lot more pay load.
Now that I'm handloading again, I'll probably pick up a LWD barrel for my G20 and start pushing 200grs at 1050fps for a lot cheaper.
