Updating forum software...

I am a few years behind on updates and it is getting harder to keep spammers off. Today I am upgrading to the latest software. The look of the site will revert to the forum-software defaults and it may take me a little time to fix it back up.

So I built a 10,200 line htaccess file which would ban the top-10 spamming countries. Problem is - it slowed the site a lot because it has to parse it for each html request.

People freaked out when Random Talk moved position in the forum listing so of course this new color would disorient people.

There a reason it can't just do that on the registration page (since you need to register to post) so it doesn't slow down the rest of the site?

If you don't like this, you can go into your user control panel->board preferences and pick how the site looks for you. There are a few choices now and I will add more when I have time.

I agree that this black and white is hard on the eyes. I too thought I was logging onto the wrong site. Robert, I appreciate what you are doing. Keep up the good work.
