New Remington SPS

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Post by OkieSnoop »

Ok, I read the post by Silvers and went to Remington's website
I really want one of the new Remington SPS 700's W/the threaded barrel - question is.......Where do you find one, or do I just call the factory and have them ship one to my local dealer??

Dealers can order from Remington or distributors.

Or you can find an online dealer and have it shipped to your dealer.

I saw a rack full of the AAC SPS's today. Was at the Remington factory, and they were just about finished and were in line to be packaged. Only missing a thread protector, maybe they put it on last. Threads looked real nice, wanted to take a photo, but I was told no photos allowed. Stock color looked nice as well.

I know, I just got a call from my local Remington dealer to tell me that he had one in stock - I'll be going to look it over today or tomorrow
And on Saturday I'll be meeting with Maj. Malfunction to see what his best price is on an AAC Cyclone -
That is, unless you have qnother suggestion Robert?

Oh, BTW, anybody have any ideas where I can get a supply of TTI Armory Sub-sonic .308?

Davidson's and Sports South have the rifles now. Other places also but I am not sure which ones. I was told 'most' distributors have them on the way.

Yes, a Cyclone is a good choice.

No, I am not sure where to get TTI subsonic.

Just checked Sports South showed no inventory, Davidson's showed 20 rifles in stock. I wish that Remington had not gone for such a low price point, I had one of the Hogue Pillar bedded stock and it was worthless. First thing I would have to toss.

Davidson's has 12 left. They are proud of them too!! $45ish more than RSR. Guess since they are the only game in town with them- they can charge what they want. Further proves why I do not order from them.

My dealer quoted me a little less than that - but I'm not griping -

Where do you get subsonic .308 ammo? and what does everyone else use? A suppressed bolt gun is worthless W/O sub ammo! Midway has Lapua for $50 bucks a box!
I shoot lots of .308, but not at those prices!!!

Lots shoot EBR Thumpers or the other option is to handload. Only cheaper way to do it.

When it comes around on the guitar, I would like to get subsonic ammo made. For now, there is TTT and EBR.

I highly disagree that a silencer is only fun/useful with subsonic ammo. While subsonic ammo is very fun and impressive, supersonic is what I use most of the time.

Subsonic is cool for the ooh and ahh factor, but not really useful for much to me. I like the dramatic difference in full power ammo and still able to shoot to 600+ yards. When you hear the TRG with the brake then I put the can on I still get plenty of oohs and ahhs.

I wish they would have kept the bolt knob you had on it. I'm still impressed Remington is making it. Thanks Robert for your influence on them. It's good to see the "shift" happening..............

I don't think I had the bolt knob on the low cost rifle. Only the higher priced concept.

Well I think I estimated the price would be under $1000 and that is true - just probably by a wider margin than people expected. It was Remington's doing though. They want to make exciting products.

Rem does high-end well also. I was looking again at the MSR/PSR today - man, there are very few rifles I covet but that is one of them. It is so nice it is beyond belief.
