atf phone number

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Also, you'll need the serial number, and your name.

Does anyone have a time frame on a recently completed transfer? I don't want to be a pest about it to our government officials if I'm "jumping the gun" so to speak. My checks were cashed on 3-29-2013. Last I heard, 6-7 months was the norm but that was months ago.

I was told 9-12 months by my dealer back in August.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

You should be getting it approved in the next month or so based on the cashed check date.

I had a check cashed on 4-2 so I am really hoping you are correct...

Last I heard, it's up to a 15 month wait now. Personally, I don't understand why people call. We all know it'll take a good while, there's no way to rush it, and it'll come when it comes. Plus, why risk annoying someone who could just slip your paperwork to the bottom of a pile?

I know all that. Stuff gets lost, especially when dealing with governments. If the appropriate time lapses, it's prudent to try and find out what happened. The people that answer questions, from what I've heard, are not the ones completing the forms.
