The Ultimate can color.

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

The Ultimate can color.

Post by Chondro »

Okay many won't agree but I love em still in the white..When I need to do my "wet work" I can hit them with a graphite spray and then remove it later with acetone.. 8)

My new Torch from Liberty..I thought only the Kodiaks came with a pouch..(In fact when they sent me this pic I thought there was some confusion at first and it was a Kodiak.) Nice that they all do..Especially for a nice big sum bitch like this one at 8 inches..I think it will look really good on a 24'' Stainless Bull barrel.

I started over with the 41 and here is the finished result..of course I get the barrel in and check it for function etc. and miss the major ding on the front that Midway shipped so Dave just turned it down and removed it before adding the threaded extension. Oh anyone looking for a ghost threaded 41 upper with that one of a kind Scarrab let me know..Just couldn't make it work for my Essence.

Hell digging through pics..Here is my Essence before it was sprayed with the coating..I didn't understand what Dave meant at first that all the work has to be done before the coating because once its on thats it..The reason is the coating is so tough it destroys the carbide bit..I like the old style cap and have the tail cap done a little differently so he took some pics for me before he sent it off..Looks like a solid piece of Titanium Bar stock here.. :D

that's a nice pistol. I still think the can should be black though. It would be cool to do a black hard coating to a silencer tube.... can you do that to titanium? something like a tungsten type coating? http://www.ionbond.com/dynasite.cfm?dsmid=84834 or something? I don't know much about it...

Yeah my best friends TL is in Black..The tube of the Essence doesn't need to be in the coating..Only the core and endcap need the coating to prevent gauling and errosion..My TL tube is bare..The TL is the exact same Titanium tube as the Essence with just a steel core instead..Titanium can be sprayed with anything you'd like..Of course if you want it in the black Liberty takes care of that for you..

ah, I did not know that. I thought the essence could not have a black exterior coating.... if it can, it should be advertised as such for more potential sales, fo sheezy

I doubt Dave thought about it..because the endcaps would still be silver..There could be something I'm overlooking. The can is so expensive to make I don't think he really wants to sell that many.. It was more of a since it can be made now he's going to..When I got my TL I wanted to know if a core could be made out of Titanium and at that time it couldn't..

Did Liberty bore out the barrel and put in a threaded insert?
Will you be posting on Youtube how it sounds.

Congratulations.

Oh, well stainless is cool too i guess. :)

Finished cans when run hard - especially on centerfire rifles- go all sorts of color.
For example, Stainless can that was Moly-Resin'ed Black, then Krylon'd tan. Then shot like crazy:
