New Osprey 9
Just picked up my Osprey9. First mag through had 2 FTF's. Then I watched the ejected brass on the 2nd mag, and it is barley beiging ejected. The host is a M&P 9mm. I am using Fioochi 158gr. I'm thinking the recoil spring my be to heavy or should I go to 147gr? Any thoughts?

Re: New Osprey 9
It takes a few hundred rounds to break in the springs.
Re: New Osprey 9
Do you hold the gun firmly or a lose target grip style
Re: New Osprey 9
I think the most important question is
How many rounds have you put through that gun? Is that gun broken in?

Re: New Osprey 9
Is the barrel an aftermarket barrel (maybe a Storm Lake) that you picked up to run your can on your M&P? A new barrel will need to get broken in (in addition to the gun, like others have said).

The barrel is factory from S&W. I only have a couple hundred rounds through it before the can. I guess I'll just put more rounds down range. Thanks

Use a higher pressure ammo so the gas works the booster better.

Re: New Osprey 9
well that would only help if the powder was a type that had the pressure higher at a later time (example ww 330 instead of ww320 )
but i think his gun just need to be broken in , or he dont hold it firmly

Re: New Osprey 9
The Osprey has a tight O-ring in the booster. The spring is a little more snug on the booster than an Evo for example as well.
IMHO the booster needs some lube and some more usage to loosen up the O-ring a little and to wear in the booster.
You can lube it, then before you shoot it.. Pull on the silencer to compress the spring a few times to help the booster to loosen up. You can feel the difference.
My Evo Booster is a lot easier to move than the Osprey as it has LOTS more rounds with it.

Long distance, the next best thing to being there!
