Which Walther P22 1/2x28 adapter do I buy?

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Which Walther P22 1/2x28 adapter do I buy?

Post by CanNotHear »

Well, the time has come for me to buy a Walther P22 thread adapter so I can use my SWR Spectre again( it's been sitting around for over a year since I sold my Ruger Mk III. ), do I buy the Tactical Innovations adapter or do I buy the Silencerco adapter? Any other suggestions? It's the difference in like $5-$15 bucks depending on who I buy it from, but I don't wanna get any strikes so the few extra bucks aren't an issue, I just want quality. So who do I buy it from and what manufacturer? I see the Silencerco adapter is slightly longer to engage the o-ring inside of a Sparrow, but I don't know if the extra length will adversely affect performance on my SWR Spectre, considering their is no o-ring to engage.

I recall watching a Silencerco video, Mike states the P22 adapter will function just fine with other cans.
I used the evil Quicken Will maker..... And my form 4 was approved

Go Silencerco- I have both and there is no doubt the TacInv is of lower quality.

Would I be better served with the SWR mount or would the Silencerco mount be suitable without a decrease in performance?

I bought 2 p22 1/2x28 adapters from tactical innovations and they work great no baffle strikes on 2 different p22's. I dont see them as low quality.

I stock the Silencerco adapters - they look good and work great.

So long as both threads were turned at the same time without removing the work from the chuck it should'nt matter at all. I have a TI and have no issues.

The fit and finish on the SilencerCo adapters is superior to others I've seen and used. They really shine when you screw on the Sparrow and feel the extended mount index the O-ring. Just another useful innovation from SilencerCo.

Thanks for the P22 and adapter! Well worth the drive! I look forward to doing business with you in the future.

If one of the adapters offers longer 1/2 x 28 threads, I'd go with it. I don't know who made my adapter and it works fine on my P22 but I have to clean the threads in my Spectre before I can use it on my rifle because the threads on the rifle are longer and the Spectre threads are filled with crud after the adapter threads ended.
