how many rounds can a Colt m4 fire with a suppressor?
I have a 14.5 inch Colt 6921. I am debating if I should get a mount to run my Surefire 5.56 can on it. How much more dirty will it get suppressed? How many rounds can fire before you need to clean an M4 with a can.

Youll notice more carbon in there. Keep the same cleaning schedule you have now, shouldnt be a problem. Keep her wet

I heard they foul up alot quicker. I want to use it as a SHTF rifle. Figured I would run a suppressor since I have a 556 can and an M4.

Go get a thousand rounds and get after it. Thats the only way to know if your setup will take it.Kip42 wrote:I heard they foul up alot quicker. I want to use it as a SHTF rifle. Figured I would run a suppressor since I have a 556 can and an M4.
Be sure to post the results.

Here a while back I saw a vid of Colt doing a torture test, m4, full auto, mag after mag, fast as he could reload.
I think around 800, the barrel was so hot, it started sagging and ruptured! Cant be sure of the round count.

10.5" with a SPR-M4 and I clean it after ever shoot, approx. 400-600 per outing.
Starting to look like the grates on the grill, but runs fine.
And while your thinking about a can, give this one some very serious consideration. Bryon has run a bunch of stuff and knows the deal on what works and how long.
Go for it...looks good-viewtopic.php?f=2&t=66569
Thank me later.........
