I have an old High Standard 22 auto that is simply lovely. Never warmed up to the Colts or Rugers frankly.

Threaded barrels for the High Standard used to be widely available. Anyone know of a current source for reasonably priced threaded barrels?

I haven't seen any.
I bought a new one from E-gunparts, along with a new front sight, I'm having my gunsmith turn it down, thread it, reset the front sight back in.

Brownell's has both High Standard barrels and barrels made from Douglas blanks. May have to take that route as well.

Randy, what barrel length are you going to shoot for after threading?

I'm going with the 5.5" bull bbl.

Going to leave it at 5.5" or have it cut back some? 5.5" going to be a long package.

Have you ever heard a High Standard suppressed? Breech is very open. Wondering what additional noise that will cause.

I love the job the guy in Newport NH did on mine...

I had it threaded at factory for a while but the threading job was not very nice and the ammo was going super sonic.. SOOoo I had him cut it to 4" and rethread it. He also made a super nice thread protector.

No loss of accuracy that *I* can tell ..

Dick at Stoneagle He charged me $125.00 with my barrel. He has/is a SOT as well.
