Jailbreak Groupbuy!!!! 215 returned!

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Can't wait to get mine back. Been doing some reloading for it
Yup old versus new Evo baffles. The newer ones are like mini TiRant baffles! Pretty sweet!

Actually, the EVO baffles were the inspiration for the TiRant.
Figured that was without saying.

Mine is the old core Evo ending in 83.

A couple of observations:

That's some pretty good erosion on the blast baffle for such a low round count and shooting only factory 147 grain ammo (no WinClean).

My 2-3 day Kroil soaks after shooting did about as much to clean the inside of the Evo as I expected...

I saw that also. What is the blast baffle on the older Evos made out of?

Absolutely, we just don't have the time to give it a solid cleaning, the light cleaning is so we can verify the mating surfaces and verify endcaps lenghts, it also takes off about 90% of the junk....

It will all come off with some elbow grease and time.

But regardless of this they are phenomenally cleaner than they were when we extracted them.

That's typical of an aluminum blast baffle.

The current ones (since at least 2008 I think) have stainless blast baffles...

I'm curious what my alum baffles look like. Hopefully the SS blast baffle took the brunt of it and the alum ones are ok.

Will admit it up front we have been busting butt lately so a couple cans didn't get photographed before the cleaning...for this we apologize, those cans weren't bad at all though.

Some more.....

Pilot ending in 12.....

Blast baffle after cleaning.

Complete stack after a dustoff(light cleaning to see what we were working with).

Evo ending in 59.....

Whoever has said that centerfire pistol cans don't need cleaning has never seen the inside of a centerfire pistol can! PERIOD!

Perchance was there a Trident 9 in that "not bad" group? :)

From those pics, it would appear that people been pouring lard, raw sewage, and used motor oil in their suppressors. :)

I think people are making a HUGE mistake when they put any OIL in their silencers. Ed's red, Kroil, or the like. It will permeate the carbon and make it impervious to H2O. I bet my guts look fairly good when cracked .. it is the erosion and ability to service which pushed me to make it serviceable.

My system of shooting wet and never letting it shoot dry ... then washing it in hot soapy water to remove the carbon/lead fouling I feel is the best method for a can you cannot dip.

Or so we will see! I hope he takes a close look at my low round count Evo-9 with the moderate WinClean usage as a benchmark. Some of the baffles look as if oil was baked on making things WORSE.

The Tridents WERE photographed just not posted online yet. They were pretty bad! I think the design of the Omega baffle retains alot of junk along with retaining the noise.

One Gen1 Trident and one Gen2 Trident, some surprising things will be revealed on them.......poke poke, tease tease!

WooHoo!!! Nice work. Sounds like the Tridents needed the most work.

Questions -

Whatta ya make of the Type 2 anodizing? Is that a good or a bad thing?

When you mail them back -

Do you notify the owner so they can be looking? Do you send them signature required? What carrier?

Ouch..........SWR advertises the finish is----Type III Hardcoat Anodized
Do they have some false advertising going on ?
How can you tell ?
Inquiring minds need to know.

Type 3 can only be a dark grey or black; so if its any other color its Type2.

I am pretty sure the tubes are Type3 HC though.

I won't comment on anything else.
