Cleaning Guns and Silencers

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Cleaning Guns and Silencers

Post by thoppe »

Anyone ever tried using one of these heavy duty ultrasonic cleaners for their handguns and silencers?

http://www.sonicsonline.com/personal-ul ... aning.html

Seems like a lot of $$$ BUT if it can clean multiple items to a micoscopic level in 20 minutes it might be worth looking into.

Also, what type of cleaning solutions do yall recommend for ultrasonic cleaning my ss sparrow (non-toxic)?

I just got the cheap, bigger size Harbor Freight one. It cleans my handguns, Spectre, Sparrow, SS
liberty and Lage M-11/22 bolt/liner well enough to regret not buying it earlier.

I use diluted 1:4 with purple degreaser/water.

*Edit to other M-11/22 owners: The HF ultrasonic cleaner too small for the regular size barrel liners. Mine is cut to 4.5 inches and it barely fits.
If it doesn't splatter, shatter, burst or explode, it's not worth shooting.
