Innovative Arms W.A.R. Receiver now avaiable!

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

Information on the web site or facebook?

No price that I can find.
No projected date of first sale that I can find.

Tag to find when there is more useful data.

Between this, an M4 H20, and a new 308 rifle... life is getting expensive.

Yes, that is how they are sold. Just the upper reciever. I'm heading to Innovative Arms right now to drop a few items off. I'll find out the shipping status.

I'm trying to love the concept, but I'm not able to logically rationalize it... Yes, it seems cool. And certainly tacti-cool. Somebody help me understand...

A custom receiver + a custom gas tube = gas regulated AR
or
A custom gas block = gas regulated AR

Assuming the decibel reduction is simply from being properly tuned, the oft mentioned 2-2.5db reduction should exist either way, right?

Why would somebody want the W.A.R. receiver and compatible gas tube when they could instead just get an adjustable gas block that'll work with a standard receiver and a standard gas tube? I'm not comparing price or brand dedication... just the implementation of the solution. The WAR seems more complex and less compatible than a simple adjustable gas block. What am I missing?

Gas blocks are hard to adjust under a rail. Also they get very hot.

Sorry I havent been on in a while, Ill try to answer some questions.
The WAR seems more complex and less compatible than a simple adjustable gas block. What am I missing?
Actually the way I see it it is more simple. You are not forced to use certain forearms or accesories. The sky is the limit. You can use standard, custom, free float or the clamp on rails. You can also use standard front sights, railed front gas blocks or custom gas blocks.
The key is you are not limited.
Also on the W.A.R. you have only two settings, on...off. Think of it as a ball valve. Innovative Arms is going for the KISS philosophy. You do not have to break your sight picture (unshoulder your weapon) to change the gas setting. I cant think of any weapon system that this is possible. Also you can feel where your gas system is at....good for low or no light situations.
Another big andvantage is that you do not have to worry about burning your fingers after a couple of rounds to make adjustments to the gas system. Its very comfortable after a couple of mags to change the settings.
The W.A.R. reciever works on all AR platforms, rifle carbine and pistol. No need to buy special "accessories" to switch one out to a different platform.
Ill try to do a better job of answering questions as they come in. Thanks everyone!

I'm in for one whenever they come out. I would actually like an off setting, but I can see how that might not be desirable for someone who is using it for serious purposes.

You can put the lever to the 45 degree position and effectively cut it off. There was discussion for a 45 degree "off" position. Phillip Woodell (owner of Innovative Arms) did not want to compromise the safety of an end user."Murphy" can strike at very bad times.

Soon....very soon.

Yes it has a modified gas tube, but it is made out of a standard gas tube. One of your choice comes with the reciever. Please specifiy the lenght you need when you give your order. Different lenght tubes will be available. This is the only part I can think of that isnt a standard AR part, other that the reciever obviously. If you have alittle bit of skills and a dremel tool you could actually modify your existing gas tube. The beauty to the W.A.R. is that you can use standard equipment or custom...your choice. Hope this helps explain.
