The only reason I ask is this. I was watching YouTube the other day and found that the guys at Silencerco was shooting thee 300 AAC out of a Osprey in .45 and 9mm and it seemed to do the job.
So it just got me curious to know if you can shoot a 5.56 or .223 out of other type of pistol cans and do it safely or wouldn't do it at all???
Pistol can on rifles????

Subsonic 300 blackout/whisper/etc is kinda the exception for this. Its safe in most 9mm/45 cans because its subsonic. Be really careful before you shoot any other rifle rounds through a pistol can. Ask the manufacturer if in doubt.

Yes, just make sure that the 300 BLK round is subsonic. You will also need a 5/8-24 to ½-28 thread adapter. You can get them here.saltydecimator wrote:so i can shoot 300 sub through my evo 9?????

Its all about the pressure a round develops.
I'd put my Trident 9 on a 9mm AR15. But I'd NEVER shoot 223 thru it.
Just compare the weight of a 223 can and a 9mm can. That weight = the structural capability of materials better able to handle higher pressures.
Late to the NFA party, but makin' up for lost time....

You should always contact the manufacturer to see what they say their suppressors are rated for.

Subs with your Evo will be fine full auto.saltydecimator wrote:sumkrnboy wrote:Yes, just make sure that the 300 BLK round is subsonic. You will also need a 5/8-24 to ½-28 thread adapter. You can get them here.saltydecimator wrote:so i can shoot 300 sub through my evo 9?????

Temperature issues would only arise if shooting ALOT!

On the Osprey series (or ANY can with a LID), you should be using a fixed barrel spacer as well.
I know Osprey makes and sells them. I have one for my UMP.

I don't know if that'd be warranted though... I've shot lots of subs FA through a 762-SDN-6 and it got HOT. not as fast as it will with supers, but still hot.

His can is already being jailbroken so the "warranty" doesn't mean much from AAC.JasonM wrote:Bendersquint wrote:Subs with your Evo will be fine full auto.

That is true. I'd not feel safe shooting a pistol can for any extended amount of F/A subs.Bendersquint wrote:His can is already being jailbroken so the "warranty" doesn't mean much from AAC.JasonM wrote:Bendersquint wrote:Subs with your Evo will be fine full auto.
