What can for an AR 9mm?
What are some good options for cans to go on the end of a SBR AR 9mm?
Re: What can for an AR 9mm?
Swr octane, AAC Ti-rant, and Liberty mystic/infiniti are the ones I would be looking at. The ti-rant is out if you want 3-lug
Re: What can for an AR 9mm?
i have the swr trident 9 on my Olympic 9mm and could not be happier.
Re: What can for an AR 9mm?
Ti-Rant9 is quiet, user serviceable, light, FA rated, fits under a hand guard, and someone will make a 3 lug for it sooner or later if that's important to you.
Sounds great on a 22 rifle if you don't already have a 22 can, and since it's cleanable you don't have to worry about it.

Trident9 will be discontinued this year.
There are not many current 3-lug options. If you are willing to do thread on for the time being, the AAC Ti-RANT and SWR/SilencerCo Octane are the way to go.

The SWR Octane9 HD is the next can I'm purchasing. It will be specifically for my 9mm SBR using a 3-lug mount.

Have had a 3 lug mount on order for the Octane-9 for months. Not available yet. Have no idea when they will ship.

Re: What can for an AR 9mm?
I am using a Gemtech Multimount on my AR pistol.
Since my 9mm barrel has an odd thread (1/2" x 36tpi) I bought a Gemtech mount in that thread and have it torqued on, semi-permanently. Then I just unscrew the can from the mount to take it off, and use other mounts for other guns.

Shoot softly, and carry a big clip.
Re: What can for an AR 9mm?
I'm sure you know this, but that's not an odd thread, that's the standard thread for 9mm ARs. Done to prevent threading on a 5.56 hider/etc and trying to shoot 9mm through it.DustyJacket wrote:Since my 9mm barrel has an odd thread (1/2" x 36tpi) I bought a Gemtech mount in that thread and have it torqued on, semi-permanently. I like my MK-9K
Re: What can for an AR 9mm?
Man I love the looks of the Mk9 has anyone ever tested the DB reduction on the Mk9? I have only heard it has a great low tone sound to it and being a older design I wonder how it compares to some of the newer 9mm models out there from ACC,Gemtech, and SWR. I read on a few forums where several guys are using Mk9's on 300 whisper/300blk rifles firing subsonics with good results.

If you want to go with a really loooooooooooooow tone, go with an original Mk9 as on "Pornstar".
