New to suppressors!!! Need help!!!!

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

All NFA laws apply.

New to suppressors!!! Need help!!!!

Post by 601hand »

I am new to the scilencer world and need help on what to get. I will start out with my first suppressor being for a 22lr. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Just want something quiet and easy to maintain.

I'm new too! Welcome to the addiction forum.

Get em all! That's what I'm doing. I'm addicted and haven't even sent out a form 4 yet.......GET EM ALL!!!!! My first order was the Element 2 and the Kodiak TL. Everybody here says I'll love em when I get em. Since I ordered those two I've managed to pick up 2 more 22lr cans too....the Spectre II.....Everybody says those are great too and built like a tank. Can't wait to find out first hand!

Good luck with your choices. Ton's of great 22 cans right now

I am very happy with my AAC Element and just submitted a Form 4 for a Spectre II. Both are top performers.

I've been told that the wait time go a can is around 6 months. Man that seems like a long time. Is this correct.

6 months is best case scenerio. If the dealer has to order what you want that adds a lot to the wait too. Depending on if the manufacturer has any ready to ship or if they have to make them. and the ATF seems to be taking longer and longer to approve the form 3's

I bought cans on march 8th and still no ATF approval to transfer to the dealer....... :( :( :(

My first transfer years and years ago took 14 months, my fastest was 30 days door to door!

Average right now is right around 7-8 months.
