YHM Mite Rebuilds
After many requests from many people we decided to redo the YHM Mite silencers. Looks like we are knocking off about 8 to 10 dB depending on host pistol. Video, info to follow.

Core replacements is the only thing anyone can do when it comes to baffles.LawBob wrote:Total redo or core replacement

I mean is it an all new mite, or is it a core replacement program (or both)

Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
It would be removal of your old core and replacing it with John's core and endcap. If it was a new Mite then it wouldn't be called a rebuildLawBob wrote:Bendersquint wrote:Core replacements is the only thing anyone can do when it comes to baffles.LawBob wrote:Total redo or core replacement

Ok guys, its ready to go.
http://www.thesilencerstore.com/index.p ... ucts_id=42
We are knocking 14dB off of the Ruger MKIII system and better than 8 on the P22. Silencer Research member (past, present and future) get $50 off with the coupon code SRMITE50.
I did this for a guy in Texas and he thought is was so good that we had to offer it to everyone. Satisfaction guaranteed!

While I appreciate the correction if appropriate, smart ass comments are in order only when called for:
"After many requests from many people we decided to redo the YHM Mite silencers. Looks like we are knocking off about 8 to 10 dB depending on host pistol. Video, info to follow. "
He said "redo" not rebuild. The author above could have been yhm, how would we know? He said "we decided to redo the Mite". Sounds like yhm to me, initially.

Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
Not being smart ass at all, the topic title said YHM Mite REBUILDS (emphasis by me). Thats where my response came from.LawBob wrote: While I appreciate the correction if appropriate, smart ass comments are in order only when called for:

There is no way for them to do a total redo because of GemTax.
Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
Yes. I know.
$300 is more than I paid for my mite.
How does this compare to Liberty re-core?

Wow! The video really says it all. You can really hear the difference, even through youtube. Well done! If I had a mite I'd do this in a heartbeat.

Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
I've got a Mite that I can't get open, should I send it to YHM first or can you get it open as part of the re-core?

Like Renegade said, you have been here this long and don't know who John is?
Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
eff it, I'm in with the sr discount. My current core is toast anyway, starting to shear from the torque during dissasembly and it isn't going to get any quieter or easier to take down no matter how many times I send it back to YHM.
Payment sent, mite in the mail tomorrow.
I'll report back on the upgrade.

Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
Maybe I'm dumb, but I cant find where to enter the coupon code. Also, does the price include return shipping? Thanks.
Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
The coupon is after you start the check out, after you create an account, you have to "continue check" top the payment screen and then it will have the discount/redemtoin code in there.

Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
John, in your opinion, should I go all stainless or some aluminum to save weight? What I like about my Spectre is being able to dip to remove all the crap. Is the weight saving worth it to have to deal with scraping off all the crap from the baffles?
Thanks

Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
My Mite cost $200 new when I bought it. It sounds just fine the way it is.

Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
I would go stainless unless you really need it to be super light. Stainless is easier to clean, etc... We are going to offer all our silencers with all stainless baffles pretty soon if people want that. This includes our new 9mm/40/45 silencers.
You can do a combo if you want to like the first 4 would be stainless and the last 3 would be aluminum too, if you want to.

Re: YHM Mite Rebuilds
Douse it in kroil or penetrating oil. Let it sit for a few days , rotate it a few times. Here and there.Nuclear wrote:I've got a Mite that I can't get open, should I send it to YHM first or can you get it open as part of the re-core?
Don't shoot it afterwards! Oil!
Try to open. If not do what he says.
