You can do a skinny barrel Ruger but the front sight is the issue. I made it work. The gun has billion rounds though it and keeps on ticking.eastern_hunter wrote:That's just scary!
Hate it that we have a Mosquito in addition to an M106 High Standard (that works like a dream!). Looks like I'd better plan on a replacement for that SIG!
Sure glad I decided to do the 40 year old High Standard on a whim. Bought a new bbl from Brownell's and had it threaded. Is a tack driver!
I wonder if a skinny barrel Ruger auto can be threaded. Have one of those in the safe too.

I honestly thought Walther was good. My P99 AS has treated me well. Is the poor quality limited to just their .22LR line?Bendersquint wrote:Are you serious or pulling my leg?wacki wrote:What's more quality that a walther?Buy quality once and move on.
And yes, I honestly would like to know what .22 LR pistols you respect.

I've researched .22LR pistols and it's pretty easy to notice stories like this about the Walther and Sig 22. pistols. They look cool, but seem to be crap (with poor quality control).
Have you thought about a Ruger MKII or Browning Buckmark?

The P99 is fine as it uses quality metals not the garbage they use for the P22. I think the P22 uses a zinc pot metal frame.wacki wrote: I honestly thought Walther was good. My P99 AS has treated me well. Is the poor quality limited to just their .22LR line?

I would recommend the Buckmarks, Rugers MK's and the Beretta 87. More expensive thant he P22 but quality that will pass down generations of your kids not generations of houseflies.

Cute quote. I like that saying.Bendersquint wrote: quality that will pass down generations of your kids not generations of houseflies.
Re: The Walther should come with a face mask.
Kimber Rimfire - also top notch. Also going to cost you a kidney.
Re: The Walther should come with a face mask.
Been there done that. Walther replaced it without question. Pretty quick turn around.
There have been several post on here with the exact same issue.
They build these guns knowing full well that the average gun owner maybe shoots a box or two of ammo through their gun ever.
I have a buckmark and ruger, but still shoot the p22 as a nice cheap quite host.

Me too.Bendersquint wrote:I think he meant it sarcastically.
There are many 22lr pistols that are far better quality than the Walther P22.
I myself really really want an Beretta 87!
I really want a Walther PP in 22lr. NOT at TPH.

You mean, like this?
I do have my name on the SWR list to get my Spectre upgraded. Might be able to ship the PP in with the can for, you know, testing if I can get bumped up a bit in line.
Just saying...

I would say, "Great please do" BUT ...
I did not transition to SilencerCO from SWR. I am all alone now ... taking a break, planning things.
Be well.

Seems like all the cracked walthers have threaded bbls on them. Any chance the slide is hitting the back of the can?

No the way the adapter is designed it prevents the adapter or the suppressor from hitting the slide.wacki wrote:Seems like all the cracked walthers have threaded bbls on them. Any chance the slide is hitting the back of the can?

Re: The Walther should come with a face mask.
smith & wesson makes the P22 but walther makes the barrel for both the p22 and both M&P 22 pistol/rifle. so dont blame walther (maybe just alittle for shaking hands with s&w on this one) all the other weapons are made wholey by walther. although me thinks its actualy lothar walther that makes the barrels for the m&p .22's.
i read it somewhere so dont quote me on it. everything i've dug up in the past 5-10 minutes says carl walther makes the p22 and the slide is cast zinc aloy so that would be the problem to begin with
edited because i miss read something about mim'ed parts
