Osprey with STI Recoilmaster

General silencer discussion. If you want to talk about a specific silenced rifle or pistol, it is best to do that in the rifle or pistol section for that brand.

Osprey with STI Recoilmaster

Post by jjmoberg »

Is it possible to run an Osprey .45 with an STI Recoilmaster guide rod system, or would I have to switch to a GI setup. It seems like I have read that some cans dont work with full length guide rods. Not a big deal, just wondering, so I could order parts in advance.

Thanks,

Jeremy

Make sure that the recoil rod doesn't hit the silencer and functionally you should be fine. You may need a lighter recoil spring, but I doubt it.
I run a full length recoil rod in my 2011 and it works fine.

There is over 1/2" of clearance on mine, it'll work just fine.
