My M4-1000 paperwork just got back today, so I went and picked it up...
Fit and finish are great, I can't wait to get to the range. It's also impressive how much more substantial the Blackout flash hider is over the phantom. Here are some pictures of the suppressor and it on my 12.5" AR.

I like the step cut in the middle better than the M4-2000 '07. I know the reason for the cuts are to reduce weight and I like the M42K and the stacked tapered look, but I like the 1K better.ArevaloSOCOM wrote:Very nice.
I had no idea that the M4-1000 had that more updated look.
I like them even more now.
It's also heavier than I thought. My other cans are all pistol caliber, this is my first rifle can.
The welding on the seams looks great. The finish and texture are great.
For $550, it's hard to beat.

I like the Blackout. It's much more substantial than the phantom. I cannot speak to it's flash suppression, I haven't shot it in the dark. It's also got a really cool ring if you shoot with electronic hearing protection.04hemi wrote:Have fun with it, I love mine. Also, let me know how you like that black out, mine's got the phantom, would like a comparison.
The Phantom is very thin and a nice glossy black. The Blackout is heavy and thick and SCARMOR'ed grey in color.

I got to skip out of work a little early and hit the range.
Bailey helped pack up
POI change was about 1" right and .25" high (at 50) from unsuppressed, however, I just put the 12.5" together and haven't put too much time on the trigger yet, my EOTech may not have been 100% dialed in yet, I was rushing last time I sighted it in. Once I got it in the ten ring, I didn't shoot groups or anything, I was just shooting at a couple of bowling pins.
Sound was not bad without ear protection. Comfortable to me, though more than a few rounds and I noticed a little ringing on my right ear. Put the ear pro back on and it's incredible. I usually double up (Plugs and muffs) when I shoot AR's. With the M4-1K, not needed and if I need to, nothing is needed. Very nice.
I got to shoot my 12.5" SBR and my 20" service rifle config (DCM type).
I didn't notice the 12.5" much louder than the 20".
I am perfectly happy with this purchase and would recommend the M4-1000 to anyone looking for a 5.56 can.
Here are some more pictures too:
Oh and I locked my keys in my car, had to wait a few hours for my in-laws to bring the spare set to me. That was exciting.

I didn't notice any blowback. I can' say it wasn't there, I just didn't notice any. I do have silicone sealant on my charging handle, but it's not a gas buster, just a standard one.ArevaloSOCOM wrote:Coudl you please comment on blow back for this can?
How bad or good was it?
I didn't have watery eyes or anything. When I go shooting again, I'll take note and see if there is any.

Yeah, I really don't notice much blow back w/mine either, I'll see a little bit @ the end of the day on a white tshirt though, and I do have the Gas Buster, it's quite an amazing can actually, especially for the money.
