Trying out the 96 Land Cruiser in Moab, UT - Short Video

Post by krecon1 »

This was the first time taking my 1996 FZJ80 up to Moab, UT and trying her out on the trails. Built it up with a 4" lift, running 315s, regeared to 4.88. Pretty much all armored up and weighing in at slightly over 6000lbs. Slee Off-Road, a custom Land Cruiser parts company out of CO supplied almost all of the lift components and bumpers - the sliders and other armor are from Metal-Tech and Iron Pig Off Road. Running a Warn 9.5XP winch and Safari Snorkel.

Which trails did you run?

My favorites are Golden Spike/Poison Spider, Hell's Revenge, Fins and Things, and Moab Rim.

I was out there in '03 and '07. Awesome place. I wish I lived closer.

This was at Cruise Moab '09 - first day was Fins-N-Things, second day was Gold Bar Rim, last day was Steel Bender. Went up in trail ratings as I got the feel of the 80. I went from a lightly modded Jeep XJ to this beast, so it was quite a change in driving.

I've done all those trails too. You should grind that badboy through upper helldorado.
