Woodbrook is up on the North end of town on 29/Seminole trail across 29 from I think Dicks SG. It's before you hit Wally World if your headed north. Its in a shitty strip mall behind a Ice Cream place.

If you do reloading, they have a pretty good selection.

Thanks a lot fellas! Also, what exactly is the law against threaded barrels and hi cap mags? Is it that they are illegal for carry, illegal period or what? Can someone please set me straight on this?

There are several laws on that.

One is that open carry of handguns or semiauto rifles and shotguns with threaded barrels or high cap (20+) magazines is prohibited in certain localities unless you have a concealed handgun permit. As a practical matter, it's not really important.

If you want to get an "assault weapon" from a dealer you have to show proof of citizenship.

There are no limits on magazine capacity or threaded barrels, assault weapon features, or any of that bullshit. What we do have is mandatory state registration of machineguns, and a prohibition on DD shotguns and shotguns of like kind. So no folding stocked Saigas with drum mags. Everything else, with the exception of explosives, is fine.

I am in SWVA as well (Wise County VA), which I might add has no SOT's nor Class III transfer dealers, that I know of :?: . This is the primary reason that I don't have a SBR, yet!

Hey Downrange, you know of any dealers that will do transfers and help out a guy looking for SBRs and Silencers?

thanks

Are you wanting a factory SBR? Because you do have options depending on what you want.

If there aren't any SOTs in Wise or the surrounding areas, you can go through a regular FFL, it'll cost more and take longer though. Or hook up with a SOT at a gun show in the area (there must be gun shows out there).

Just checked this forum - I have been using a dealer in the Tidewater area, and it's a bit of a reach to connect for transfers, but it's all worked out thus far.
Seriously considering opening my own dealership here, though, in the near future...
Will post when I do.

Wouldn't those ordinances have gone away with state pre-emption?

Actually no - those prohibitions are written into state law. COV § 18.2-287.4, "Carrying loaded firearms in public areas prohibited; penalty." Concealed carry permit holders exempted.

Is anyone aware of the ATF rules for moving suppressors into VA from my prior state of residence? I recently relocated and am aware that MG's require mandatory registration with the state, but how about cans? Or am I cool as long as I have my paperwork?

Thanks!

You should be good to go bringing them here from your other state. VA doesn't give a s--t, just make sure you tell the ATF your new address and the serial numbers of your items and you should be G2G.

This. You can write ATF and tell them where the cans are now, if you want.

Hello from Alexandria!

Sounds like Alexandria CLEO won't sign off so looks like I will have to go the Trust route when I finally have the cash for some Stamps. Any recommendations for lawyer and dealers in NoVA?

Hampton Roads! Soon to be the proud father of twins (Pilot and M4-2000)!
If only the militia can be armed, will the government pick the loyalists or the patriots?

Was it our Founding Fathers intent to let someone like King George pick who can be a militia?

I'm on the peninsula as well. I shoot in the Lafayette Gun Club practical pistol league.

A Tidewater group shoot would be a lot of fun.
