Not sure where I read it but I saw somewhere the Governor of Wyoming signed a bill to allow hunting game with suppressors now. If that true, Congrats! I think a while back Montana was shot down due to the rancher industry fearing folks shooting their cattle  Is it ok to hunt with suppressor in Idaho?

It seems best not to completely trust an Internet forum on this:

It appears to be legal to hunt with silencers in Wyoming and Idaho, but pay attention to the disclaimer "Silencer laws are subject to frequent change and interpretation."

WY: Guv signed bill in Feb 2013, which went into effect July 1, 2013, where silencers are legal for all hunting in WY.

Idaho Fish and Game does not prohibit the use of silencers. However, ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms) requires a permit to possess and use a silencer. I recommend you contact the local ATF office for the appropriate applications.

MT: HB205 Bill to allow suppressors for all hunting vetoed by Guv on 5/06/2013

MT: HB27 to allow use of suppressors for hunting wolves outside of big game seasons vetoed by Guv 3/28/2013.

If you look at the votes for each bill above in the H and S, there was a good majority for the Bills. For whatever reason, the MT Guv is the problem.
