Scottsdale - it's raining enough that I hope they open the desert back up so we can play on our own with quiet toys.

Tonto nat'l forest lifted their restrictions last week. I called them on thursday. Hopefully it's still free country out there, I'll find out.

Artful,
Check this out... http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/tonto/recreation/
Click recreational shooting on the lower left, and you'll see a map of current restrictions. Do you do the Tonto thing, or do you head in a whole other direction. It's close to Scottdsdale, so I figured Tonto is your stomping grounds too.

do some out Beeline - have shooting bud up Skull Valley way other side of prescott, where it's nice and cool usually.

Central Phoenix. Right between the Crips and the Bloods.

Heck ya - I'm thinking heck of a way to start the new year right! :P

What's everyone's schedule like - I'm currently off Sat & Sun.

Should we do it between Tucson and Phoenix (Casa Grande?)

or out North, East or West of Phoenix - need to find a place with
no noisy shooters

I'm usually free on Saturdays and Sundays. January's looking a little booked up right now though. As far as where to have the shoot, I'm open to anything as long as it's nice and quiet. I have yet to find the perfect area, but the only place I usually explore is up Beeline. Can't seem to avoid dirtbikes and other shooters up that way. Anyone else know of a suitable spot?

I know spots but require truck/4x4 to get too, I think we need car friendly drive in. And you may always run into Dirt Bikers/ATV's but at least with suppressor you can hear them coming.

Table Mesa Road off the 17 North of Anthem...Sometimes can be crowded, but you don't need a 4X4.

Might any of these spots have a place for cars to park just off the paved roads? Depending on how much 4x4 distance needs to be covered, I'd be willing to make a couple trips to truck other people in from there. It will be worth it just to get a peaceful quiet spot.

Mining company just posted there with last month - I'd have to scout and see if anyplace we could still shoot.

Nice offer but think I may have better location...

How about 4 peaks / Rainbow Mtn / Sycamore creek area - Northeast of Rio / El Oso Road - it's off Hwy 87 Past North Bush Hwy onto - NF-402/NF-143

I'm told road isn't bad and if you go out 4 peaks way and bikers peter out after a couple of miles back in there. When/Who wants to do a scouting trip (either with me or without)?

That's good to know. That area looks like its about 10 or so miles past where I usually go. I'll see if I can take a look up there next week, hopefully. Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Sort of looks that way they pulled in a trailer and have posted no shooting within 1/4 mile, no trespassing etc.

Wally, update - looks like Miner's Camp on Table Mesa is affected but if you take the right instead of left to Miner's Camp it may still be open I'm told (haven't checked it out personally)....

I checked out NF143 east of 87. I went about 2 miles in before I found a somewhat secluded shooting spot. The place was crawling with ATV's and dirtbikes. It was a washboard type dirt road with a few dips that I think would tear the crap out of a car, at least jack up someones alignment. I didn't get a chance to check out the road directly across 87 to the west though. Ran out of time, my appologies. The overcast was nice and made for some great clay pigeon fun today! Good times!

I've been asking around and I can't come up with a good spot thats car-accessible. Well, there's one west of Flagstaff, but screw that! Anyone else having any luck out there?

Table Mesa is still open...more to the point, there were ALOT of people out there. Quite a few that I avoided like the plaque...By the way, the Blackside 45 is spooky quiet when wet...Wally
