New WY Gun Law - Jail Terms for Feds

Post by Davo5o »

This is from an email I received.

New Wyoming Gun Law – Jail Terms for Feds

Executive Summary – Wyoming passed a new gun law similar to Tennessee and Montana. The Firearms Freedom Act. This law states that any gun made, sold and kept within the State of Wyoming is not subject to Federal Gun Control Laws. This means no registration. Wyoming did however go further that the other states. They said that any State or Federal Official who tries to enforce any federal firearm law regarding a firearm made, sold and kept in Wyoming could face a $2000 fine and two years in prison. See how the law reads:

“A personal firearm, a firearm action or receiver, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in the state to be used or sold within the state is not subject to federal law or federal regulation, including registration, under the authority of congress to regulate interstate commerce.â€

The WY law puts teeth into the Firearms Freedom Act by giving State and Local law enforcement the legal means to stop federal agents from arresting WY residents with a Made in Wyoming firearm. The other States that have or are considering them should do the same thing.

If you don't, then you end up like Kalifornia where they legalized or quasi-legalized pot, and the Feds came in and arrested growers and users not breaking any State law over the pot. The police stood by and let them arrest those people because there wasn't a State law to enforce against the Federal agents.

I also like how WY included silencers in the Made in WY law.
You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.

Remember, in spite of our personal interests, guns are just the point of the spear.

The bigger argument is states rights.

It goes back to the saying of “Making a Federal Caseâ€

Interesting thoughts relative Lincoln. Seems like something like this touched off a little firestorm during his presidency.
