300 Blackout Integral Comparisons

Post by zpat » Sun Oct 08, 2017 6:58 am

Does anyone know of a thread or review or website that has spent some time detailing the specific differences in backpressure, dB at the muzzle, dB at the shooter's ear, etc. between the various 300BLK integral uppers that are out in the market? Back several years ago it was pretty much Liberty Leonidas and that was it, but now there are over a dozen. Of course everyone's definition of integral is different, some just attach a can to a barrel in a quasi-permanent way which isn't really any different from just screwing on a can, while others are extremely integral like the Suppressed Weapons Systems and others that merge the barrel & can into one unit.
If anyone has experience with more than one integral (so as to offer constructive comparisons), that would also be useful, or specific comparisons say between using a 10" 300BLK barrel with a well known can like the Omega and an integral. Right now, here is the list of 300BLK integrals that I know of:
Gemtech Integra
Liberty Leonidas
Daniel Defense DDM4ISR
Spikes Tactical ST Billet Compressor (choice of two different cans a 5" one or a 9" one)
Witt Machine
Suppressed Weapon Systems

Plus these folks make them on a custom/one off basis:
SSK (JD Jones)
Johns Guns/Dark Horse
Keechi Creek Arms
Curtis Tactical
I'm sure a dozen more folks in this category!

Curtis Tactical is a member here. You may could ask him yourself.

As for the rest of them, there is one video in specific that compares 3 different blk cans. Though doesn't have as much info in them as you're looking for.

I don't care what your chart says

Without having all the weapons subjected to identical testing you may never have your answer. It would be very difficult to discern a db or two that will separate this group. As far as quality Curtis Tactical has my vote of confidence. He's a craftsmen that will travel the extra mile for his clientele. His workmanship on baffles is superior to any others I've ever seen including my own.If you excuse me you'll like finger-banging his can.

The only reason after 243 years the government now wants to disarm you is they intend to do something you would shoot them for!

Eric with Suppressed Weapons Systems can probably give you some of that comparison info. When I was there last they had a Daniel Defense and a Leonidas there that they were running comparisons on. I have one of the SWS 300BlK uppers. Fun little toy. Quiet and a tack driver shot after shot. The Leonidas feels really good too but I just like how easy the SWS is on the cleaning and simplicity.

I believe that Sig demo'ed an upper for an AR platform in 9mm that uses 27 baffles and is supposed to be the quietest thing out there and they will be releasing one in Blackout after that. That's what I was told by a friend who was at the Sig Booth and relaying my questions to the Sig folks. I asked and the answer I was given was that it would be for the standard AR Platform and not just for the MPX. Does anyone know if the MPX is set up to take AR type uppers? Can't find anything at Sig's page.

I was talking to Sig at Shot Show through my local Range Manager and was told that the new Sig suppressed upper with 27 baffles designed for the MPX will fit on an AR lower... this is second hand information over the phone but I also could not find anything on Sigs page...
27 baffles in a one stamp 16" upper sounds like heaven to me!! The Sig guy told my Range Officer who was right there that it is the quietest 9mm upper ever... would love to see availability and pricing. Will probably call Sig direct on Monday and ask for engineering or management as there is a kid who anseers the phone for Sig who need to get his f'ing ass kicked... a true little bitch behind the phone...

An MCX upper might work on an AR, but an AR upper WILL NOT work on an MCX.

I finally got my dd isr gen 2 after 15 months of waiting and I'll say to my ear it's very quiet an I am very pleased with the sound and tone. I liked it enough that I just bought one of the noveske nsr-sd rifles which has a pinned dead air sandman ti. I will say that apparently the gen 1 dd isr's sucked pretty bad so stay clear of those but the gen 2 is good to go.
