Non-responsive dealer/manufacturer

Post by Libertarian_Geek »

In the past year, I had made reference to a silencer that I had purchased (my recommendations were based on specs and hearing it in person.)

My purchase was made last January.
The ATF approved my stamp in September.
My dealer/manufacturer is not "ready" for me to pick up my product.

Since I do not have this can in hand, I retract all of my recommendations.

I believe that there are others in the same position as me with this same dealer/manufacturer.

How about naming the dealer or should we use the force...

I would contact the ATF and let them know that yore transfer was approved back in September and the dealer/manufacture is not ready to complete the transfer over four months later.

My preference is to receive my silencer (should it be completed without compromising safety or quality) and my approved Form 4 (approved in September 2013).
How I proceed is up to Hooper Ordnance's response to my emails.

Update...
Hooper is standing up to make this right by the 15th (according to an email with him.)
s--t happens and sometimes it's not the way we planned it. How you work through the s--t is what matters.
I get that.

I'll post the results on the 16th.

He made it right. Sorry for my lack of follow-up.

We agreed on a deadline of the 15th and he delivered a solid (albeit very late late) product.

The quality and performance of the can is everything I expected. My only gripe was the timeliness.

For what it's worth, I am contemplating a 2nd one to dedicate to my night/competition-gun.

Occasionally I've been kicked in the ass.
Sometimes I turn around and see my wife standing there alone.
She said "it was someone else that did it".

I'm with you.....order another one. :D

Are you suggesting that you would give more money to the same folks? Unless they are going to give it to you, why would you set yourself? There are plenty of businesses that will satisfy, customer service and performance.

I'm not saying that I would purchase one under the same conditions.
I am saying that I like the product enough to buy another one. The silencer itself is a great piece of work. I haven't found a comparable one given the weight, sound, size, price and caliber.

Here's what I've changed: From now on, I will have to see the exact one that I'm buying before I begin the process again. This goes for any dealer/manufacturer that I deal with.

I am glad you like the suppressor Ross. We have plenty in stock now ready to transfer. We have moved into our new shop and things are moving smoother now.

Good deal. I've got a few things prioritized in my budget at the moment, but another Femur S is on my future list.

If you like the product and manufacturer, why not delete this thread. Just saying.

See what I mean? They rock(Weight, Size, Price, Performance).

I'm planning on another, but it may be a bit before I can budget it in.

called hooper ordnance the week of may 22nd still no stamp was told he was going to give it 2 more weeks
Approved in record time under 3 months, but you still don't have the stamp in the SAME amount of time?! I would be livid. You should've received the stamp around valentines day. And at this point what difference would yet another 2 weeks of waiting make? Probably enough time for the dealer to make up another story
