Actual dB measurement of my De Lisle replica.

Finally got one of my De Lisle's measured for dB using a proper meter per the accepted standards.
Insert the usual disclaimer about elevation, humidity, variations in bullet design and load, etc., all affecting performance so no guarantee that another unit will perform identically on any other day.

128.44dB 1 meter to the left, 10 shots
111.40dB 1 meter to the left, firing pin (empty chamber)
125.28dB measured at the ear, firing pin (empty chamber)

Equipment:
B&K 2209 meter
B&K type 4136 ¼” microphone
B&K type 4220 pistonphone
Federal American Eagle 230 grain

Atmospheric conditions:
85 degrees
63% humidity
29.330 in actual pressure at test site

Following the standards & procedures as outlined in Paulson, Alan C., Silencer History and Performance, Volume 1 chapter 5

1.0 meter to the left of muzzle 90 deg to the bore axis
1.6 meters above non-reflective surface
No reflecting surfaces near by
10 rounds are fired & averaged to determine performance

Now I'm headed back to the shop to assemble some more.
I would like to tighten the baffle aperture but with so many individual baffles it's as tight as I dare go without getting strikes.
Still want to do a mono-core when I can, that should let me tighten the baffle bore significantly.
Also easier to assemble with fewer parts, but more time consuming to machine.

I've got one of Richards DeLisles and love it. It is silly quiet and everyone who shoots it smiles and is amazed.

My only caution is to clean it often or you won't get the baffles out. In hind sight (I knew better too) I should have opted for the two stamp version. My own fault.

I'd thought about getting a 77/44 for about the same price but this has style and class in spades and the workmanship is top notch. It goes to the range on almost every trip regardless of what else I'm shooting.

Some people already swear all they hear is the firing pin, I think there is just a little report.
Several of these out in the world now, surprised to see so little posted from the owners.

Probably easiest to take apart while warm.
As I recall De Lisle himself recommended cleaning after 500 rounds or less.
Clean burning ammo is your friend.
A baffle alignment/removal tool is included with each integral unit.

Getting low on the traditional baffles, so the mono-core may be moving up in priority.
