Re: New 45 suppressor released today
Nice complete video, thanks.
Looks like Rugged Suppressors is debuting with a top tier pistol suppressor that is incredibly versatile (45 ACP, 9mm, and 22LR all sound great out of the can). The modular capability (short or long configuration) sets it apart from the competition.

You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time...and those are pretty good odds.

I'm glad I waited on getting the tirant 45m (as hard as that is to do with these things) now that this came out. Great video as always. One thing though.. And this is probably a dumb question since I can't find the answer on Google, but to use this on a .22lr would you use the same 1/2x28 piston used on most 9mm or would you need to get a fixed barrel attachment?

Fixed with a spacer in place of the spring.

Re: New 45 suppressor released today
Thanks for the great review. I was dead set on a Octane 45HD and have even recommended them to friends who have bought them, but after seeing this, and a few days of research, the modularity of this can really made it stand out to me. I ordered it yesterday. The primary function of this suppressor for me, will be duty on a 9mm AR, but it will likely see action on multiple pistols to include 45acp, 10mm 40sw and 9mm. That is, unless I keep acquiring more suppressors. They seem to keep multiplying in the safe.
Re: New 45 suppressor released today
Ordered on of these today. Can't wait.

Re: New 45 suppressor released today
Does anyone know if they have a direct thread mount in the works, or if the Octane 45HD mount will work? This can is set for SBR duty primarily. I had not considered that when I ordered the extra 1/2x28 piston that the piston setup probably would not work on a 9mmAR. I have never had a pistol can before, so the piston thing is new to me. All my cans are QD or direct thread.
Re: New 45 suppressor released today
Your 1/2x28 piston will work fine on your 9mm AR if you replace the piston spring with a fixed barrel spacer. I am also wondering if a silencerco or griffin mount will fit this can?
Re: New 45 suppressor released today
It looks similar in finish and design to the Spectre

Different baffle design....and the finish is just heat treated stainless steel.Grounded wrote:It looks similar in finish and design to the Spectre

Re: New 45 suppressor released today
You would think that someone would standardize the pistons on suppressors so they could all save money on R&D and the money of making a "new" one from scratch each time, it would save us money too in the long run. That piston looks a lot like a silencerco. I'm looking for a pistol can in the future that I can clean, the osprey I have is nice but sometimes you want to see whats going on inside the black box, and with the Osprey, it is a "Black Box"
I shoot mine mostly wet for now and always wonder if I'm getting it into each baffle or just one or two, I'd rather pre wet my baffles as I snap them together then seal it with a rubber stopper. I'm afraid to do that with my osprey because I keep thinking of crap growing inside my can and turning into a moldy box in my safe. I know its not much of an issue if any at all with wire gel but it just makes me not want to keep it wet at any time, I also worry about corrosion in the can if I keep it wet overnight. for now I clean it out with hot water and use a heat gun on low to dry it, it only gets 250 degrees so I'm not worried about it getting too hot for the finish or anything.
I think the Rugged or hopefully Dead Air will come out with one, thanks for the reviews and the demo shoots.

If you put in a vibratory cleaner it will come back silver finish.Fireman1291 wrote:Different baffle design....and the finish is just heat treated stainless steel.Grounded wrote:It looks similar in finish and design to the Spectre

Between the Obsidian 45 and the Revolution 45 which would you choose and why? It seems like the Obsidian is a few decibels quieter but it's also slightly larger.

I would choose the one in stock.tf2addict wrote:Between the Obsidian 45 and the Revolution 45 which would you choose and why? It seems like the Obsidian is a few decibels quieter but it's also slightly larger.
Both are nice.
It's not a silencer, it's a can of whoopass!
