I just did some quick testing with the 3 rim fire cans I have taking 10 shots with federal ae suppressor 45gr 970fps, the 10 shots were first 10 shots can cold.
Testing was with a Ruger 22/45 lite
Base line was 5 shots 154.9, 154.3, 155.4, 154.6, 155
Liberty Regulator weight 5.6oz length 6.5"
10 shot avg. 116.42 First round was 120.4
Deadair Mask weight 6.6oz length 5.125"
10 shot avg. 117.11 First round was 120.7
Osprey Micro weight 6.6oz length 4.625"
10 shot avg. 117.18 First round was 126
All readings were 1 meter left of end muzzle or end of suppressor with the Larson Davis LXT1-QPR, I'm not going to debate everyone that thinks the test equipment is not standard as Dr. Phil Dater has posted that this meter is within 1db of the actuall mil standards when using c weighting which is what I used. Either way all 3 were tested the exact same way and these were the results.

Thanks for taking the time to do the shoot, compikle the results and post them.
As for Anyne who would question the validity of the test, I guess there will be trolls everywhere but ignore 'em!

Thanks for the report and posting your methodology.
Those were pretty similar Empirical #s. How was your Subjective observation? What was the Difference in Tone? Did 1 hiss and another bang? Any other comments on your experience shooting them?

Re: Rimfire review
Deserteaglexxx, very nice review.
Thank you.
It will be interesting to eventually include
in your comparison test the
Ruger- Silent-SR.
At a NH range the new Ruger
.22 'sounded' quieter than 2 of current .22 commercial cans.
Without actually metering there is no valid comparison.
Ruger's unique 3-D baffle surface is compelling.
When the HPA eventually passes the savings of the cost of2
stamps will allow purchasing two Ruger cans.
Then one can insert both cans' baffles into
a single 'Artillery Luger' tube ... much like the
classic PTK long can that used to be posted on YouTube.
Best.

Re: Rimfire review
Even in light of folks who might question the set-up, the numbers are still useful for comparison of the cans to one another.
Thanks for posting this data.

Re: Rimfire review
For those interested, I got a quote for the above device (w/ software, hard case, tripod, etc) and it was about $3800. Quite reasonable I think, considering it should last you a good while. I, also, got a quote for a monthly rental and it was just under $700. If you, and say a buddy, wanted to test a bunch of cans this would be an affordable way to go about it.
Just thought I'd share.

Re: Rimfire review
Those numbers look very comparable to anything else I've seen by anyone with "better" equipment. There are so many things that can affect results 1-2dB in any direction.
Nice post.
