Elevated Silence Evolution Field Test

Post by VSOOfficial »

We recently went out and tested the elevated silence evolution sound suppressor. The evolution is built around a 30 caliber bore but uses specifically bored brakes and creative internal geometry to optimize it for other calibers. This can be especially helpful when trying to suppress things like 6.5 Creedmoor or taking a step down to 5.56.

I have drilled down our testing into this video for anyone that wants to just kick back instead of read:

Because the evolution is constructed out of titanium we wind up with a pretty light package that can be viable for those guys that want to hump it on a hunt with a weight of just over 15 oz. Even though the titanium build lends itself to a lighter profile the can remains full-auto rated and we confirmed this by running it through our version of full-auto rating. Minimal scarring of the cerekote finish occurred after 100 rounds of full-auto. For those few out there that intend to run an Evolution on an automatic regularly, the can is available in a flame finished titanium and this would be our suggested finish for those high heat applications. They look pretty too.

All of that said, the main concentration of the can was for precision shooting. We confirmed minimal point of impact shift relative to unsuppressed with a slight tightening of the suppressed group. This indicates that the can is consistently regulating flow around the bullet as it traverses the silencer.

While some heavier calibers like 308 may be a bit gassy in semi automatics, the Evo cleans up quite well in intermediate cartridges like 300blk and 5.56mm. The can is bored for 7.62x39mm; however, thread concentricity should be checked before firing on an AK pattern rifle. The Evo knocks down a fair amount of the flash signature after dark. This is critical for night vision compatibility and generally getting more followup shots a nuisance species like coyotes and hogs.

Specs are detailed in the above video and on the Elevated Silence website. However, one last key feature is that the serialized portion of the can is the rear cap. Should the can be damaged for any reason, the can will likely be serviceable without the need of a second unconstitutional transfer tax.
