Will the rear endcap be available as a retrofit? I hate the fact the current one unscrews so easily form host to host.

I hope so since this is the only thing I dont like about my Element. The new catalog says that the new cap is permently attached to the tube.

That would make it hard to clean the tube unless it just a ring. You think they would make them to upgrade older models.

I think they change the cap so you have something to grab while unscrewing from the host.

Hope someone can give more detail. :D

Also why bother going to TI?

I am assuming they saw the flaw in the tiny end cap and changed it like you said to get a good grip when removing from a host. I would hope that if they made a change cause they know people have had problems with it they would offer that to older models for a charge of course.

Aside from a lack of gripping surface, quite a few people did not like the rear end cap aesthetically. Particularly the users who had bull barrelled hosts. We offset the weight gain of the new full diameter rear end cap by making it and the tube from Ti.

We're seriously talking about an upgrade rear end cap for existing Elements. Please be aware that we cannot make the gripping surface on the upgrade part as long as the gripping surface on the Element 2. This is due to the tube of the Element 1 being longer than the Element 2. If we were to make the gripping surface of the upgrade part the same length, it would make the upgraded silencer longer than it was originally. We're trying to stay on the right side of the ATF ruling/interpretation that forbids the lengthening of a silencer during repair/upgrade.

I would be very happy with a upgraded part even if it isnt any longer then it is now. I think even at the same length as it is now but made like the new one it would be a big improvement. Plus like you said it would look a whole lot better when mounted to a host.

I would also be interested in an upgrade and would like to encourage AAC to go through with making these endcaps for the gen1 Elements.

Anyone else?

I would need to make 100 of these. Would there be 100 people that want them?
