I'm sure someone here has got both of these, or at the least has done a side-by-side comparison. Given that the VERS is about 3" shorter than the CAC it's definitely very tempting, but I'm left to wonder if it's significantly louder.

Can anyone speak to (or provide data) regarding any sound level differences?

I'm interested in knowing as well. Perhaps call and ask Bowers? He's a good guy and knows his stuff.

I just ordered a VERS-9 last week. Hopefully I'll have it in hand before it starts snowing here again.

At which point I'll be able to compare it to my CAC-45.

Review I posted on Bowers NFA Discussion Board - Have to say Tom/Dorothy this is a great little suppressor, fills the void between a dedicated pistol and SMG suppressor. I chose the 1/2x28 AIMS mount due to the number of hosts I have with that thread pitch. Ran it on 3 different hosts this morning and it worked extremely well on all 3, Full sized and Mini Uzi as well as a SBR 9mm AR. It balances nicely on the Mini, has a very pleasant tone, and found no POI change from my informal tests.
The 9mm AR's in my opinion don't really suppress as well as other host's, in saying that, your Vers 9S worked on par with full sized SMG suppressors, but added a good bit more maneuverability, and just fit the weapons profile nicely.
On the full sized Uzi it's pretty impressive as well, shorter, lighter, easier to point shoot with.
To sum it up, Excellent Suppressor, now add in the additional AIMS adapters and the ability to run it with sub 300 BLK, outstanding...
This will probably end up on the Mini full time.
Yep I'm a happy camper, thanks for the great products.
Pics of the other host's below, you will see some smoke coming out of the ejection port in the last pic,as I took the pics right after firing the weapon.

I met up with my dealer today and got to take my VERS-9S out for a test drive. All I can say is I am very impressed. When shot side-by-side with the CAC-45 (147 gr. 9mm through both), both sounded great, but everything listening thought the VERS-9S sounded a little quieter. I've had the CAC-45 for a dozen years or so, but had the baffle stack upgraded to the latest & greatest a few years ago.

I can see the CAC-9 possibly being a little quieter as Chili says, but not by much. All I'm really hearing is the bolt slamming and the bullet impacting in the berm. Also, the VERS-9S was brand new, while the CAC-45 has a pretty good buildup of lead & carbon on the inside.

I recently started playing with a Lage MAX-11 on my M11/9. It is a little longer and has more weight out front. Add a big subgun can and it gets a little muzzle heavy. I really like how the shorter can balances out. Feels really good.

Personally, I'm thinking if you want a very good 9mm subgun can, get the VERS-9S. For the best flexibility to be able to shoot the most types of ammo, go with the CAC-45.
