Any recomendations on rimfire scopes for lonGER ranges with a savage fvsr? I don't want to spend more on the scope than the damn gun. BSA sweet .22 any good?

Re: Long range rimfire scopes?
I'm assuming you plan to shoot at 15-100yds only, want more than 4x, and that this is for a .22lr.
Nikon 3-9x ProStaff Rimfire is a good one if you don't want to spin turrets to adjust POI at difference ranges.
Also check out:
Vortex Crossfire 4-12x AO model
Vortex Diamondback rimfire
Sightron S1 3-9x 32mm rimfire
Weaver RV9 Rimfire Classic 3-9x 32mm AO
Clearidge RM 3-9x 32mm AO
Avoid BSA. They're feature heavy and weak on quality. Ditto for Simmons,Tasco and most Bushnell scopes other than the Elites. They'll work for awhile, but the turrets will crap out after a few years with normal firing, and even faster if you plan to use them to adjust POI for different ranges.
If you plan to mostly shoot at 50yds+, just get a good centerfire scope. If you want this for very accurate shooting, and can't lose even 1/4" of an inch at range, then get an adjustable objective scope (AO).

Re: Long range rimfire scopes?
Mueller APV and APT scopes are a great value. High on magnification, adjustable objective lens, great quality scopes for the money. I have three of them so far and it's my go-to scope for all rimfire rifles. Adjustable magnification from 4.5x up to 14x.
I like the APT due to the target style turrets and mil-dot reticle.

I just picked up an FV-SR today. I'll be ordering a Mueller APT for it tomorrow.

The original Vortex Vipers are very good and cost effective (not the PST).
Best buy for the money is the Bushnell 3200 10x40 Mildot.

Re: Long range rimfire scopes?
+1 for the APT, kicks A$$ on my CZ 452
Re: Long range rimfire scopes?
I love my Mueller. I have the APT and used Burris xtreme(?) low mount rings and the only issue I had was decent cheek weld. Solved that issue with a cheap cheek riser.

Re: Long range rimfire scopes?
I am very happy with my nikon monarch UCC 4x12x40 that's on my cz452 threaded barrel '16. I know that's a bit above ur requested price but it's an awesome scope and I found it at a local gun show for only $100.00

I've got a Nikon 3-9x40 ProStaff Rimfire mounted on one of my 10/22's. It works great.

I have a Vortex Crossfire 3-12x40 AO with Fine Crosshair on my Savage FV-SR. It also wears a Boyd's Target Hunter stock
