Gunsmithing...threading barrels, tactical knobs
Hi, I am offering gunsmithing services to include threading barrels for muzzle brakes and suppressors.
I also add tactical knobs to bolt action rifles. See pics.
Kimber Bolts
Remington 700
Ruger 10/22
RUGER 77/22
S&W 39 Semi Auto pistol. Barrel extended and threaded.

***All work is done with the utmost importance on accuracy. All barrels no matter how short are indicated to the bore prior to machining.
Ask about our Ruger MkII bull barrel conversions. We take a std skinny barreled Ruger .22 pistol and give it accuracy, a bull barreled look, and threaded muzzle. All for one low price.
Right now lead time is less than 3 weeks. Custom work welcome.

More info on this please, preferably with pics. Also, can I get a quote on threading a 10" T/C Contender .22 barrel (1/2"x28tpi 3A .400" length) with thread protector and relocated front sight, with return shipping to 03452.
Thanks!

Those prices are right.
If a longer barreled action is sent, add $10 for the extra shipping.
The Ruger conversion is where I turn the existing barrel down to .500" , thread the end back enough for a threaded boss to screw on but still leaving .400" of muzzle thread for the suppressor and thread cap. A SS 1" seamless tube is then fitted between the receiver and the SS boss. In essence, the barrel is placed in tension and given a bull barrel look.

Can you put an oversized bolt handle on my CZ-452? The 452 is not a threaded handle but I would assume could be.
This particular one. Its for 5/16 X 24 threaded bolt handles.

I asked a question of Hoop and I asked not knowing if adapting a tac bolt handle to a CZ452 was even possible.
I don't believe Mongo was trying to raise Hoop's ire by posting that picture. I for one am glad that he did since I had not seen a badger bolt handle on a 452 as of yet.
I haven't decided who I will send my bolt off to as of yet but I was a bit put off by the not so subtle dig to Mike's ability in Hoop's doesn't look straight comment.
I've had 3 guns threaded by mike and have been beyond happy with all of them.
I don't doubt Hoop's worksmanship for a moment as he comes highly recommended.
The cz bolt handle doesn't have enough meat to allow one to use the shaft therefore the knob itself would have to be milled down. It doesn't have a straight shaft like the R700 and has a slight back and upward tilt. Whoever I have do mine will have to do a similar threading aka not straight from shaft in order to clear the scope when lifted and clear the stock when closed.
That's my .02 cents. Take it or leave it but hey, what separates us from ARFCOM if we end up with some kind of ubermoderated orwellian dictatorship. Obviously that hasn't happened yet but I don't want to see it happen.

I am sorry, I thought this was a discussion and did not see that it was an ad since I use the "new since last visit" link to read the boards. I was replying to the CZ 452 issue.
BTW I told Mike how I wanted the knob mounted with picture and diagram and he did it how I specified.

Hoops,
I mailed my T/C barrel off with a check today. Am looking forward to seeing your work!
Also, are you threading/extending .22 conversions? I have an Advantage Arms .22 kit for a Glock 35. The barrel would need to be threaded and have an adapter similar to a Walther P22 adapter added. If you like I can probably find an adapter locally and check it for fit in the barrel opening in the slide. If it is a good fit, you could just match the stock Walther metric threading. Let me know.
Thanks again!

Hoops,
I am thinking of sending in a Rem 700 bolt for a knob
This boly is used on a 300 Whisper and I believe I can improve extraction with a Sako-style extractor. I bought a kit, but haven't taken the plunge to do it myself. I have the machines, and probably could do it, but would rather have it not botched up.
Please send me a PM and let me know what the price would be - I didn't see a price on your web-site.

Sir, an adapter would be made that extends the barrel past the slide. The adapter would be long enough to allow it to be threaded .400". Technically this would be 2 thread jobs but since everything is already set up for the second on the adapter, the cost is $125.chingon wrote:Hoop,
I have a Ceiner .22 conversion kit for a taurus pt92, Not enough barrel protrudes from the slide to be threaded for a suppressor. What could you do so that I could mount my can on this conversion? How much would it cost?
Basically I would be threading your barrel a smaller thread size and making an extra long thread protector that is loc tited on w/272, then threading the part 1/2x28tpi and adding a TP to it.
BTW guys, I understand the questions here regarding different methods of performing tasks. I also see how my comments could be taken out of context regarding the off center bolt knob. It was in jest. I have done a few installs that the customer wanted but would not have made part of my normal machining practices.
I tend to go with the majority on standard everyday work product but do welcome custom jobs.
