Eley Subsonic .22

Post by tsands974 »

Has anyone here used Eley subsonic .22 ammo with a can? I typically use CCI Quiet rounds for hunting which are incredibly quiet, but my local ammo store only has some of these Eley subs in stock. How do they compare noise-wise to the CCI Quiets?

I have some of the Eley Hunting subs, and they are very quiet. They are louder than Quiets (I can only hear the firing pin drop), but the Eley hit harder.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

There are a few different grades of Eley (Club, Tenex, etc.) which are very popular with competition 22 shooters, things like silhouettes. The reason being that Eley loads are very consistent and Eley "headspace" is very consistent as well. Some of these guys sort their 22lr by rim thickness.

Anyway, suppressed i don't personally notice any difference between Eley or CCI Standard, both are 40gr bullets.
