223 Gold Dot on hogs.

Post by glocker17 »

Took a couple of hogs Friday using Gold Dot 64gr SP ammo. Both were pass thru shots, one shot med section was on the run, but went down quick. Very happy with the performance.

Looks like a Ranger 2 on a 16.5" 700. I run a similar setup, and it knocks em dead with 55gr Hornaday SP.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

yet everyone looks at me funny when I show up with 70gr 5.56's and one guide wouldnt let me hunt with my rifle. I told him, 77gr FMJ's stop humans pretty damn quickly, why not the 5.56 here with expanding bullets? he handed me a mossberg 500 and told me his land, his rules. I let a whole bunch go by until he was pissed enough to give me my money back and I left. nice rifle though, is it heavy? looks like an HS stock, I know they are heavy.
