Successful Saturday!

Post by JeffWard »

Went to a local private land guided hunt in Central Florida this weekend. Took a nice (70-90lb) hog only 1 hour on stand. Stuck around until after dark... Nothin'. Three guys, three hogs.

110gr Barnes Black-Tip, 2100fps, from my 8" 300BLK, through a SilencerCo Omega. On a trot... one shot down-angle from just behind his rt shoulder, exiting left "armpit". Went about 20 feet.

Absolutely. Mine hit about 2100 FPS out of a suppressed 8.25" barrel, loaded with a max 19-20gr of H110 (I forget). Basically the case is filled to near the rim, and compressed.

I got an exit wound 1.5" across after passing through the upper shoulder on the right side, punching the left lung, and exiting through the ribs on the lower left side. Hog took no more than 20 steps and expired.

I'd have no concern shooting a 400+# hog with a 110 Barnes at reasonable range.
