a 110 grain gmax bullet

Range (yards) Velocity (fps) Energy (ft.-lb.) Trajectory (in)
Muzzle 2380 1383 -1.5
50 2244 1229 0.1
100 2112 1090 0
150 1985 962 -2.1
200 1863 848 -6.4
250 1746 744 -13.1
300 1635 653 -22.8

100 yards is well above the magical 1000 ft.-lbs. limit that some insist on.
200 yards is clearly doable, not particularly great.

300 yards... eh... Will a well placed bullet going 1635 fps with 653 ft.-lbs kill a deer, yes. is it a good choice, no

Thanks, so 100-150 is easily doable. I rarely make shots beyond 100 any who and if I need to Ill just have to move to a larger cased caliber. I was just hoping the 300 would take out the need for an AR15 and a 308 bolt rifle and be the multi use rifle. I guess it can do it to some degree.

What about long range precision shooting? Out to 4-600. I wonder if I need to get a 6.5 or 308 to do that. I guess the main reason im asking this is im going to get a Nightforce NXS in 5-22 or 8-32 power and wondering if the 300 can reach out to distances that the scope can handle. I like the low recoil plus it's suppressed (AR 300) and it seems to be a good intermediate range rifle.

An NXS with that magnification is way overkill on a 300 blk in my opinion. That scope will handle ranges outside your own personal shooting ability, regardless of the platform.

But hey, if that's what you want, it's a fantastic optic that won't let you down.

I agree with your statement, I just like lots of magnification. I think that the 300 bo with the nxs is just kind of a start for me to venture back into midrange shooting.

the heart wants what it wants but my wallet isn't so passionate about this.lol

180yd kill with 300BLK. Lasered distance. 125gr Hornady SST. supersonic handload. Expanded and exited, not recovered.
TR-24G 1-4 on my build.
Went 20yds from the spot where she was hit.
Max range in the food plot this was taken from is 194, which I would be comfortable taking.
300yds, I dunno, have to try to recover a pill first. Don't have anyplace that long here. Probably just grab my 243 or 6.5g for that poke.
My Daughters from 2013.

I took one the previous day at 25yds, same rifle/blind/load/result, different plot.
