slugs and choke tubes
slugs and choke tubes
Do slugs work with choke tubes? THANKS.
Re: slugs and choke tubes
I wouldn't shoot a slug without a choke tube ... the threads would be exposed.

Re: slugs and choke tubes
I always heard no tighter than modified...."heard" being the operative word. My social 870 is choked modified and it's the only one I shoot slugs from.
Re: slugs and choke tubes
I would not shoot a slug threw anything other than cyl choke. anything more you're risking damage to the choke tube and threads...... That's just me though.
Don't look at me with that tone of voice !
Re: slugs and choke tubes
What type of slug? Foster, sabot or Breneke? For Foster-type slugs, IC or less (i.e. skeet1). For sabots and Breneke, they sell rifled choke tubes. Please note that you MUST use anti-seize compound on the choke tube threads when using rifled tubes or you won't be able to remove them.
