44 Mag Subsonic-Which powders ?

Be careful -- low-volume ratio loads can detonate. Mangement not responsible for load data. Use at your own risk.

I know you stated in aversion to using magnum powder, I'm getting my best accuracy in that rifle using 17.1 grains of H-110. This load is below the current published data but I found some data that is within a 10th of a grain or two for the starting load.

My next most accurate load was using blue Dot, 12 something grains. But it could not touch the accuracy I saw with H-110.

Velocity is 1075-1085 with H-110. I have not had any issues with supersonic crack in my area, but it is a little faster than what most people shoot for.

Don't have any actual data, as I don't own a chrony. But I've played around with 300gr sierra bullets with the IMR 4227. 19gr was subsonic. I have the same barrel/gun and accuracy is left wanting,,,

I just put SRT 77/44 with douglas barrel together and I couldn't be happier with the accuracy. I've shot alot of suppressed guns in many different calibers and this setup is by far the best center fire setup I've found. At 100yds it is truly between 1-2 moa with 240gr bullets and W231. I've had so many guns that shot great suppesonic but ended up less accurate than throwing a rock at subsonic speeds. I was starting to think a 22 was the only thing that could be suppressed and reliably accurate at subsonic speeds. I did find that .308 could be considerably more accurate than 300blk but both are a pain to reload compared to a straight wall pistol case.

I just wanted add my .02 about 44s and the SRT.

I'm using 9.5 grs of W-231 with a beartooth 320 gr bullet very quite and hits like a school bus.

I use titegroup in my 44 mag subsonic, found data for mag and 44 special using it. Just found a load hotter than special, lighter than mag.
