CLEO, show up or made appointment?

I keep calling my sheriffs office to find out if I need to make an appointment or just show up for CLEO. Everytime, they answer my question with a transfer to a voicemail box.

To those who have gotten CLEO sigs, what has your experience been?

I just walk in and ask if the chief's available; if he's not I just leave it with the secretary.

Show up in person and of CLEO is not there there is ALWAYS someone there to take the Forms and deliver them.

Alright. I guess I'll show up and get either a sig or drop-off. What a rigamarole!

I take in a handful of Form 1's when I go and drop them off with a SASE. Within a week, they are back in my mailbox all ready to go to the ATF.

I need to get some more in there now that I think about it. A couple more SBRs and a pair of silencers sounds like a decent Summer project.

The Sheriffs office in one area and the Police office at my current location both had a front desk that you went to and dropped off your paperwork. If you can find someone local who has had paperwork signed, they would get you the best information.

Finally got ahold of sheriff. Very nice guy, happy to answer any of my questions. Didn't hear an once of impatience or judgement in his voice. Dropping off paperwork tomorrow. Told me the review will take about a week.

I always just showed up. If he wasn't there the secretary had him sign it later and I always picked it up same day. Now I have a trust and hope efile goes active soon.
