Mailing to yourself

Post by 2ac »

While I'm finalizing the trust after my fathers passing I'm wondering about getting it to myself. Has anyone shipped their suppressor to themselves, from one state to another? I'm finding that I may be able to overnight it to myself, using USPS or UPS. Though I wouldn't consider USPS, considering their poor track record of late.

No need to overnight it.

Here is the catch, if YOU mail it to YOURSELF, YOU actually have to mail it to yourself, noone else can legally mail it to you, you gotta do it yourself. This IS applicable because if you were at where the can is now you would drive/y it home with you.

I dont know what track record of late you are referring to but we use USPs almost exclusively and ship hundreds of packages a year and never a problem.....now Fedex and UPS thats another story.

I've bought and sold a few things lately, and have had one lost and one almost lost. I also know of many guys who've had packages lost and severely damaged by USPS. I imagine the items that you've declared are being handled more carefully;)

If the item is considered a "firearm" then Fed law allows you to ship the item to next location with you as recipient and you can use "C/O" (care of) of someone who secures the item at that destination location, but only if the item remains legal at both places. Many people do this with rifles and pistols, but each may have restrictions on how they ship and must be declared.
